About eleven family members have reportedly died of food poisoning in Benue State, Ikobi community in Apa Local Government.
 
The villagers said that the family members died after they were suspected to have eating food that is contaminated with harmful chemicals.
 
The 11 victims wee: Ochefije Ojo, Adi Ale, Maria Ojo, Aboyi Ngbede Ochefije, Aipu Ochefije, Mary Ochoyoda, Blessing Abu, Ehi Abu, Peace Ochoyoda, Favour Edoh and Ojochono Daniel.
 
It was reported by Daily Trust that while six of the victims died in one day, the remaining five that eat the food also died a few days after.
 
Ochoyoda Abu, one of the bereaved family members lost his wife (Mary), daughter (Peace) and two sisters (Ehi and Blessing).
 
The traditional ruler of Ikobi community, Professor Mohammed Adah, told newsmen that a similar incident had happened in September.
