LG Tone Free With ANC Announced
~1.0 mins read
Back in June, LG announced its Tone Free TWS earbuds which featured a self-cleaning charging case with UV light. Now we get a similar looking pair bearing the HBS-FN7 model number which come with the same neat case and active noise cancellation.

The new model has three microphones on each earbud for monitoring and toning out sounds. They are developed alongside Meridian Audio and come with an in-ear canal design. Pairing is done over Bluetooth 5.1 and the earphones support the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs.

The UVnano case emits UV light onto the silicone tip and inner mesh. LG claims this kills 99.9% of E. coli and S. aureus 2 bacteria. It charges over USB-C. Battery life with the case is listed at 15 hours.

The LG Tone Free FN7 are already up for sale in South Korea for KRW 21,900,000 ($194). They are expected to arrive to the rest of Asia, Europe and North America in Q4 this year.

How To Turn On An Android Phone With A Broken Power Button
~2.3 mins read
A smartphone can and does undergo other types of damage such as a broken power button.  Other than repair, a permanent solution to a broken or missing power button does not exist.

The only problem is what to do if your phone is off and your power button is gone. The good news is, you can turn on an Android phone with a broken power button.

Restart phone without power button

1. Simulate Key Press With A Physical Object

In case your button is simply missing i.e. fell out, you can insert a thin object (like a toothpick, or a hairpin) on the exposed bump and that should get you started.

If your problem goes deeper than that, you can still turn on an Android phone using the correct combination of volume and home keys, and your USB data cable.

2. Connect It To Your PC

This will work on very few phones but it’s worth a try. Connect your phone to your PC via the USB cable. If the battery charge is zero, allow it to charge a bit.
Once the battery has enough charge to turn the phone on, there’s a chance it will turn on itself.Use Other Hard Keys On Your Device

Volume Button And Home Keys

Smartphones don’t have physical home buttons any more, or rather, very few of them do. If your Android phone has a broken power button but you have a physical home button that you can press, the following key combination will turn it on.

Volume Keys + Home Button

Make sure your phone is charged. Hold down both the volume up and down keys, and connect your phone to your PC.

Next, while still holding down the volume keys, and with the device connected to USB, hold down the Home button. Give it a few minutes. Once the menu appears, release all buttons.

You’re going to get a series of warnings and commands on your screen. If you’ve never rooted your phone, these might seem scary but don’t worry.

Use the volume keys to go cycle through the options and select the restart or turn on option. Your phone will turn on.

Volume Button

As mentioned before, not all smartphones have a physical home button. In such a case, you only need your volume keys to turn the phone on.

Make sure your phone battery has enough charge for the phone to actually run.

Hold down the volume down key and connect your phone via USB cable to your PC. Keep the volume button held down until you see a boot menu.Select the ‘Start’ option using your volume keys, and your phone will power on.

US Shoots Down ICBM In Space From Warship For First Time In Successful Test
~1.3 mins read
An intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was shot down in space from a warship for the first time during a successful demonstration on Tuesday, according to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The ICBM target missile launched from a test range in the Marshall Islands, located in the Pacific Ocean, between Hawaii and the Philippines around 12:50 a.m., and was shot down in space by a missile launched from a U.S. warship at sea, the MDA announced.

It was destroyed by an advanced SM-3 Block IIA ballistic missile defense interceptor made by Raytheon Missiles & Defense and co-developed with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, a statement said.

"This was an incredible accomplishment and critical milestone for the Aegis BMD SM-3 Block IIA program," said MDA Director Vice Admiral Jon Hill. We have demonstrated that an Aegis BMD-equipped vessel equipped with the SM-3 Block IIA missile can defeat an ICBM-class target, which is a step in the process of determining its feasibility as part of an architecture for layered defense of the homeland."

Bryan Rosselli, vice president of Strategic Missile Defense at Raytheon Missiles & Defense, said the test was a "first-of-its-kind" and shows that the U.S. "has a viable option for a new layer of defense against long-range threats."

Previous tests to shoot down ICBMs were conducted using ground-based interceptors launched from bases in Alaska and California.

"My congratulations to the entire test team, including our military and industry partners, who helped us to achieve this milestone," Hill added.
