So He told me that since the devil is just pretending to be a lion, that means he doesn't have the power of a real lion.

What he is doing is what we call 'raking mouth'.

So if the devil is just raking his mouth, then his plans will not hold water, they will be feeble.

Why?

...Because he is powerless, he is just claiming who he is not and that is why God watching him from heaven laughs because his plans are weightless, plans against righteousness, God's children and so on.

He asked me...

Imagine a lion is seen laughing at his enemy for example a dog, the dog is just barking.

The dog is probably making noise that he knows how to deal with the lion's cub.

Then the cub's father, the big lion laughs wildly at the dog's intention.

...And then the cub start crying because of the fear that has been instilled in his heart by just looking at the menacing look of the dog.

Now knowing certainly that the dog is no match for the lion.

He asked if I was in the shoe of the big lion, will I applaud the child for crying?

I said no, rather I will disappointed that he doesn't trust in me his father to win the battle. I replied that that will be belittling me, I will definitely be so sad and most likely annoyed with the cub.

...Then He said that...

The devil is just like the dog, just barking here and there but without power on the inside.

But He Himself is the Lion, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

That when He see the Devil's works, He laughs him to scorn but it is so disappointing that we His children begin to cry like all hope is lost.

He said that yes, it might look the devil is having the upper hand and as if He, God is just silent, looking at the Devil supposedly having the victory, but He told me that what He is actually doing is that He is waiting for the devil to finish ranting and barking, He is waiting for the person involved or someone who will stand in the gap for the person involved to start praying and then He will go into action.

But most of the times, we that He is waiting for end up crying like there is no hope.

When He told me that, I had to go down on my knees to ask Him for mercy.

He then told me that there is a difference if it is to Him we are crying to.
