"Kelechi! How are you?" I heard a voice whisper my name, then I turned around and saw an elderly man who looked well to do. His golden brown coloured hair was quite distinct, but he didn't look familiar.

"Good day sir." I responded.

"Good day, my daughter, I'm sure you don't remember me." The elderly man continued as he had on, a cheerful smile.

"I'm not so sure sir, please pardon me." I admitted. Then he paused before he continued.

"Do you remember the day you and your dad visited a certain man who has a large poultry at the back of his house? He also has two huge black dogs that made you quite scared." The elderly man said.

 Then, I recalled everything he had described.

   "Yes! Chief Thomas! Oh! I remember now! Good evening sir!" I exclaimed.

"Good evening! You are all grown up.. you know, God has given me a very good memory." Chief Thomas said.

"Indeed sir!" I concurred. Then I began to wonder what he was doing at the party.

"Are you a friend to the celebrant?" Chief Thomas interrupted my thought.

"em... Yes sir, we were also course mates way back in the university." I replied.

"Oh, I see! Well, I am a very good friend to the family, my son literally grew up with them after the demise of my wife." Chief Thomas said.

"Oh! Really, that's great." I exclaimed. Almost immediately, a young, tall, ebony man joined us.

My heart skipped quite abit, suddenly I became restless, and we couldn't stop staring at each other, gosh! It was quite awkward.

"Hey, Charles, meet Chief Bankole's daughter. Remember Chief Bankole?" Chief Thomas said as he introduced me to the young man.

  For a moment, he just stood still and continued  staring at me, with a grin. Then, he stretched forth his right hand for a hand shake. As I attempted to respond, the glass of champagne in my hands poured on my beautiful white dress!

 Chai!!! What an embarrassment!
