Terwase Akwaza started with the intention of defending his people from the Fulani herdsmen, some labeled him a militia leader to the extent that a bounty was placed on his head. News broke out that he has been killed and it has led to a series of controversy amidst the federal government and Benue State government. The truth about Nigeria is that "all man is for himself" and the South-West governors should remember that they have started something they will need to stand firm for: it is Amotekun.

Amotekun was created to combat the Fulani Herdsmen who are invading residents farms and destroying their properties. It was a great move if you ask me, no one could try this in their land, so if they are allowed to move in the South, why should they kill people harboring them. Amotekun initiative was the best thing the South-West governor could come up despite their difference, for the first time; South-West spoke with one voice. However, the real evil awaits if care is not taken.

What Amotekun needs is constant funds and salary payment, above all, the Federal Government not hijacking it from them because it will only open doors for insurgency. South-West governors should know that at this point, Amotekun will do well in protecting the South-West because they are people who understand their people's pain. What Amotekun needs is proper funding at all times and constant salary payment, if not, then, they may be unlocking another insurgency that will cause insecurity. Therefore, they should start working on plans that will ensure its longevity.
