HIGHER EVERYDAY: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)
TEXT: ACTS 20:34-38

MEMORY VERSE: "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive" (ACTS 20:35).
Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Somewhere along the way, we must learn that there is nothing greater than to do something for others."
We live in a world of "survival of the fittest" - a world where the strong live at the expense of the weak. Many people live today as if we are still in the era where the Nazi "law" viewed some fellow humans as weak and undesirable.
We must treat the weak in our society kindly, and not wickedly. With our sincere love of the Scriptures, we should act beyond mere tolerance for the weak.
But who are the weak in our society today? They include the fatherless, who have never known fatherly love; foster children, who bounce from home to home without care; prisoners, who are hardly visited by anybody; the unborn, whose body parts as aborted babies, are sometimes trafficked by heartless people; and the spiritually helpless, who are likely to draw back to perdition.
The Scripture commands us to support them as a mark of our real love, humility and faith in God.

QUOTE: Treat the weak in our society kindly.
CHALLENGE: Help the poor and needy around you, if you can.
PRAYER: Precious Lord, help me to be more compassionate.
