It is the ability of sedimentation of Erythrocytes in its own plasma.
Some causes of increase in ESR include; carcinoma, chronic infection, Tissue destruction, Nephritis, pregnancy.
Some causes of decrease in ESR include;sickle cell Anaemia, congestive heat failure, leukemia.
