~8.6 mins read

The Anoaʻi family is a renowned family of Samoan wrestlers, which also includes Rikishi, uncle Umaga, Jimmy and Jey Uso, Naomi, Nia Jax, Roman Reigns, The Rock and Yokozuna.

The Anoa'i family, originating from American Samoa, is a family of professional wrestlers. Family members have comprised several tag teams and staples within a variety of promotions. This is their official family tree:

WWE superstar Roman Reigns and The Rock belong to the same family tree and the two are cousins by relation. Their family has many notable wrestlers, including The Usos who are Roman Reigns cousins.

Roman Reigns and The Rock have been seen on WWE TV on a few occasions, most notably when The Rock helped Roman Reigns win the 2015 Royal Rumble match. Roman Reigns cousins The Usos have also been seen on WWE TV with The Rock when the latter helped The Usos to assault the New Day on Raw in 2016. It can be remembered vividly that The Rock is the wrestler that helped Roman Reigns win the 2015 Royal Rumble, when he was overpowered by the Big Show and Kane.

In 2019, Roman Reigns and The Rock also starred in Fast and Furious: Hobbs & Shaw which is a spin-off of the Fast and Furious franchise. The movie also casts Hollywood stars, Jason Statham and Idris Elba. Hobbs & Shaw also marks the Hollywood debut of Roman Reigns.

It has been rumoured that The Rock may face his cousin Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 36 Next year.

This family really is a legendary family.

Below is the full list of the Anoa'i family members that are all wrestlers:

1. Roman Reigns

Leati Joseph "Joe" Anoaʻi is an American professional wrestler, actor, and former professional gridiron football player. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Roman Reigns, and he is the Universal Champion in his second reign. He is currently in a heated feud with his cousin Jey Uso. He is the most active member of the Anoa'i family as it pertains to wrestling at the moment.

2. The Rock

The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson is one of the greatest professional wrestlers in the history of the sport. He made his WWF debut on November 4, 1996, as Rocky Maivia on Monday Night Raw and after failing to win over the audience as a face, he turned heel, joining the stable The Nation of Domination in August 1997. Soon after that, Rocky Maivia became The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment – “The Rock” – and changed the landscape of professional wrestling forever. The Rock led the WWF into the Attitude Era and along with Stone Cold Steve Austin and their contemporaries, defeated WCW in the Monday Night Wars. The Attitude Era of WWE (WWF) was undoubtedly the best era in the history of the company and of pro wrestling as a whole.

The mere presence of The Rock in the arena changed its composure and its aura. A 2-time Intercontinental Champion, 5-time World Tag Team champion, 10-time World champion and winner of the 2003 Royal Rumble, The Rock revolutionized WWF and caused a hike in the ticket sales and TV ratings.

3. Rikishi

Solofa F. Fatu Jr. wrestled under the name Rikishi, which was the Japanese term for a sumo wrestler, similar to his cousin’s name “Yokozuna.” Rikishi joined the WWF in 1992 as a part of the tag team The Headshrinkers, along with his cousin Samu (Samula Anoa’i). His infamous signature maneuver, The Stink Face, brought him a lot of notoriety during the Attitude Era. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015. He is the father of Jimmy and Jey Uso.

4. Jimmy and Jey Uso

Jimmy (Jonathan Solofa Fatu) and Jey (Joshua Samuel Fatu) Uso are arguably the best tag team in the world right now. The Usos wrestled in WWE’s developmental brand FCW in 2009 and then joined the main-roster on May 24, 2010, along with their cousin Tamina Snuka. The 6-time WWE world tag team champions have marked their presence in the industry with their technical style, tag team abilities, and promo skills. The Usos are the son of Rikishi and also the first cousins once-removed of Yokozuna. The twin brothers of the Dwayne Johnson family are the nephews of Umaga. The Usos are also the cousins of Roman Reigns.

5. Yokozuna

Rodney Agatupu Anoa’i was portrayed as a sumo wrestling champion representing Japan and wrestled under the name Yokozuna. Managed by Mr. Fuji, Yokozuna debuted on the October 31, 1992, episode of Superstars. Yokozuna was a 2-time WWF Tag Team Champion, 2-time WWF World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of the 1993 Royal Rumble. He was the first Samoan wrestler to hold the WWF World Heavyweight Championship and also the first Royal Rumble winner who received a World Championship match at the main event of WrestleMania as a result of a direct stipulation. Remembered as one of the greatest Samoan wrestlers of all time, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame posthumously in 2012.

6. Nia Jax

Nia made her NXT debut in May 2015 and joined the main roster in July 2016. She showcased her dominance and feuded with the top women wrestlers of the company - Sasha Banks, Alexa Bliss, and Ronda Rousey. She is the second cousin once removed to the Rock. Nia Jax is a former WWE Raw Women’s Champion. There is a very important record that she possesses. She is the first woman wrestler of the Anoa’i family to have won the WWE Women’s Championship. That's quite a record she set.

7. Tamina Snuka

Sarona Moana-Marie Reiher Snuka-Polamalu is a second-generation pro-wrestler (daughter of Jimmy Snuka) who wrestles under the name Tamina Snuka. She made her WWE Raw debut in May 2010 alongside her cousins The Usos. She has feuded with a lot of prominent women in the women's division.

8. Umaga

Edward Smith Fatu initially made his main roster debut as Jamal with his cousin Rosey in 2002 as the heel stable 3-Minute Warning. On April 3, 2006, episode of Raw, Fatu returned with a new gimmick and was renamed as “Umaga,” a ruthless and destructive Samoan wrestler. He had a winning streak against the majority of the Raw roster and he defeated the top superstars John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Kane during that period.

9. The Wild Samoans

The Samoan brothers Sika (Leati Sika Anoa’i Amituana’i) and Afa (Arthur Anoa’i Sr.) formed the tag team The Wild Samoans. They won 21 Tag Team Championships around the world throughout the span of their illustrious career, chiefly in Mid-South Wrestling, the NWA promotions and in WWE (WWF). The Wild Samoans made their WWF debut in January 1980 with Lou Albano as their manager.

10. Naomi (Trinity Fatu)

Trinity Fatu is an American professional wrestler and dancer signed to WWE, performing on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Naomi.

This is quite a legacy that is created in the wrestling world particularly in the world of WWE.

BITTER LEAF: A WONDER VEGETABLE

Many Africans including Asians are adopting the use of natural herbs and plants these days as perhaps their last resort in taking care of their health challenges, as well as improving on their health and well-being. One of such popular herbs is the bitter leaf plant, which has unarguable and undeniable benefits and natural healing abilities.

Bitter leaf is very familiar to some people but others may not have any idea about this wonder leaf.

Popularly known in Nigeria as ‘Ewuro’ by the ‘Yorubas’, ‘Shiwaka’ by the Hausas, ‘Onugbu’ by the Igbos, and ‘Aforloh’ amongst the Idoma people, bitter leaf is scientifically called Vernonia amygdalina.

Bitter leaf, known naturally for its distinctive bitter taste, foamy nature while being washed and largely regarded as a good condiment for soup preparation in the Eastern part of Nigeria, not leaving out some parts of the South-southern parts as well, is one plant that has been identified as a wonder vegetable over the years. Every part of this plant is bitter starting from the leaves to its roots. The bitterness of this plant is actually good for the body.

Bitter leaf is used in preparing a famous delicacy in Nigeria’s Igbo land, and asides this, the leaf is well known for its healing potency when chewed or juiced raw, as cooking or processing through fire reduces its potency and medicinal value.

Bitter leaf can grow anywhere unlike other leaves that only grow in certain places and temperature. These leaves flourish anywhere they grow.

Nutrition of Bitter Leaf
Bitter leaf contains flavonoids, deoxy andrographolide, 14-deoxy-n, andrographolide, 12-didehydroandrographolide, and homoandrographolide. There are also ketones, alkane, aldehydes, potassium, sodium, calcium, acid grit, and resin.
Health Benefits of Bitter Leaf

Strengthens liver health
This wonder leaf is generally considered a liver herb because it stimulates, cleanses and supports the liver.

The liver is one of the most important organs of the body. There are a lot of major functions that the liver should do every day and this includes the production of bile acid that helps in fat metabolism. Without the liver, fats will not be digested inside the body to be used as energy. Bitter leaf can be very helpful in maintaining the livers optimum health to release bile acid every time people eat fatty foods.

Another major function of the liver is the production of glycogen. Glycogen is stored energy that is released in times of low level of glucose especially for people who do fasting. The liver should be well taken care of by using bitter leaf.

Good source of fatty acids
Also bitter leaf is an abundant source of the polyunsaturated fatty acids linoleic and linolenic acid. Because your body can't make these two fats, they are required from the diet. A study found that diets rich in these two fatty acids were protective against cardiovascular disease. In this study, those who consumed the greatest amounts of linoleic and linolenic fatty acids had a 40 percent lower risk of cardiovascular disease when compared to those that seldom consumed these two fats.

Improves kidney health
Another very vital organ inside the body is the kidney. Kidney helps in the excretion of waste products inside the body. If the normal function of the kidney breakdown there will be huge problem inside the body. Bitter leaf is a natural herb that is useful in taking care of the kidney.

Good for diabetes
Diabetic patient can also use bitter leaf as one of their medication to prevent high sugar level in the blood. It will not only lower the sugar level in the blood but also repair impaired pancreas. Pancreas is the organ responsible for the production of insulin for glucose to reach each cell to use by the body as energy. Impaired pancreas does not release the right amount of insulin to maintain the right sugar level in the blood.

Reduces the risk of breast cancer
Adding bitter leaf to your healthy diet may reduce your risk of chronic diseases like breast cancer. It is found that consuming bitter leaf may combat breast cancer cell growth. In a test tube study of human breast cancer cells, scientists from Jackson State University found that bitter leaf inhibited the growth and proliferation of breast cancer cells.

Regulates cholesterol level
Elevated cholesterol, especially "bad" LDL cholesterol, is a risk factor for heart attack, stroke and Alzheimer's disease. In an animal model, supplementation with bitter leaf extract reduced LDL cholesterol by 50 percent while also boosting "good" HDL cholesterol. However, no research investigating bitter leaf on cholesterol has been conducted on humans.

Good source of antioxidants
Your body's cells are under a near constant assault from a harmful process known as oxidation. Unchecked oxidation can increase the chances of precancerous cell formation. Bitter leaf is an abundant source of antioxidants, researchers reveal. The researchers add that the antioxidant properties of bitter leaf make a healthy disease fighting addition to your diet.

Reduces fever
Bitter leaf contains an antiseptic that is very effective to reduce heat inside the body. The content of andrographolide lactones, glucosides, diterpene, and flavonoids serve to reduce fever.

Lowers blood pressure
Bitter compounds have among other substances, andrographolide, alkaloid, and potassium. Andrographolide content of which can improve the body’s defence systems such as the production of white blood cells that attack bacteria and other foreign substances. High potassium in bitter leaf is useful to remove water and salt to treat hypertension. Potassium compounds provide efficacy to lower blood pressure.

Effective for typhus disease
Bitter is also believed to be used as a medicine for typhus. Typhus is a disease caused by bacterial infection of the intestine and lymph nodes, and spleen.

Increases endurance
Bitter substances have the typical form of andrographolide. Besides andrographolide, also has panni colin substances. Based on these two elements, the bitter leaf is named andrographis paniculate. Andrographolide and panni colin specific main function is actually to increase endurance.

Aids treatment of typhoid
Typhoid is a disease caused by bacteria. Consuming bitter leaf is able to kill the bacteria that cause typhoid.

Improves skin health
Bitter leaf helps the body to reduce the risk of skin aging and fight against the effects of free radicals. The bitter extract is able to increase the body’s defence against infection that lowers the quality of the organs in the body, including the skin tissue.
Bitter Leaf Side Effects
Bitter leaf is safe to be consumed in the right amounts. Side effects that may arise are loss of appetite, diarrhoea, vomiting, rash, headache, runny nose, and fatigue.

See The Person That Looks Like Cristiano Ronaldo
~1.2 mins read
It is believed that God created people/human beings in twos and the case of Cristiano Ronaldo has now bring about an incident of such.

Before proceeding, let me give a brief biographies of Ronaldo and his lookalike.

Cristiano Ronaldo(born 5 February 1985) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club Juventus and captains the Portugal national team . He is often considered the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, having won five Ballons d'Or and four European Golden Shoes, both of which are records for a European player, won 30 major trophies in his career.

Ronaldo holds the records for the most goals (130) and assists (40) in the history of the UEFA Champions League. He is one of the few recorded players to have made over 1,000 professional career appearances and has scored over 700 senior career goals for club and country.

Ronaldo's lookalike is Reza Alireza Lou. Not much is known about him and he is not really popular. However, he gained little recognition when voters taking part in the Iranian Presidential election of May, 2017, mistook him as the Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo(as at then)

There was a lot of crowd in Tehran has people reportedly queued up to meet and take photos with Ronaldo's lookalike that was seen in the election.

Though, Ronaldo can't be in the Iran presidential election because he was preparing for Real Madrid's last game of La Liga Season against Malaga around ending of May, 2017.

The Lowest EBB Of The WARRIOR KING
~2.3 mins read

The body had not yet turned up. Indeed, at that point, early in January 2004, it wasn't clear there was a body at all. Months later, at the trial, the lawyers would still be arguing about it, the puffy, wrinkled corpse that was finally found floating face down in an irrigation canal off the Tigris. But even then, even before the dead man surfaced, it was clear that something had gone wrong on that cold Iraqi night down by the river, something wild by the American military's standards of discipline and force, and the problem had wended its way up the chain of command to the unit's commander, Lt. Col. Nathan Sassaman.

Even in an Army in which ferocious competition produced nearly perfect specimens of brains and lethality, Sassaman stood apart. Commanding some 800 soldiers in the heart of the insurgency-ravaged Sunni Triangle, Sassaman, then 40, had distinguished himself as one of the nimblest, most aggressive officers in Iraq. From his base in Balad, a largely Shiite city in a sea of Sunni villages, Sassaman bucked the civilian authorities and held local elections months earlier than in most of the country's other towns and cities. His relations with the locals in Balad were so warm that on each Friday afternoon, inside a circle of tanks on an empty field, his men would face off against the Iraqis for a game of soccer. He was a West Point grad and the son of a Methodist minister. As quarterback for Army's football team in the 1980's, he ran for 1,002 yards in a single season and carried West Point's team to its first bowl victory. Everyone in the Army knew of Nate Sassaman.

Yet as his junior officers briefed him in January about what had happened to two Iraqis his men detained that night by the Tigris, the straight lines and rigid hierarchy of the Army that had created him seemed, like so many other American ideas brought to this murky land, no longer particularly relevant. More important, Sassaman told me later, were his own men, most of them 19- and 20-year-old kids plunked down in this seething country, wearing themselves out to keep the enterprise going, coming under fire four or five times a day. The same day that his men took the two Iraqis down to the river, he attended a memorial service for one of his ablest junior officers, Capt. Eric Paliwoda, whose heart had been punctured by mortar shrapnel and whom Sassaman had lifted into a medevac helicopter as the last of his life drained away.

IPPIS: We Will Protect University Autonomy With Our Blood- ASUU Vows

IPPIS: We will protect University autonomy with our blood – ASUU vows

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, has vowed that they will protect university autonomy with the last drop of their blood.

Ogunyemi made this clear in a press statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The statement was titled “On President Buhari’s No IPPIS, No Salary” and Ogunyemi explained that the directive was meant for civil servants and not university lecturers.

The ASUU president revealed that on January 9, 2020, they reached an understanding with President Muhammadu Buhari, to develop the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), which will be sensitive to the operations of the university system, accommodate perculiarities and respect autonomy.

Ogunyemi also claimed ASUU has spent millions of naira to develop the UTAS, which has been presented to the Federal Ministry of Education.

“We are aware of the antics of bureaucrats, especially in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, aimed at bringing universities under their control. ASUU will not fold its arms and watch the gains we made on the autonomy of Nigerian universities slip by.

“It took us several years of continuous struggle during the military to get here. So, let nobody hide under the name of President Muhammadu Buhari to attack the autonomy of public universities because Nigerian scholars are prepared to resist it to the last drop of their blood,” the statement read in part.

Africa 'needs $1.2tn' To Recover Coronavirus Losses
~1.1 mins read
The economic damage as well as the health costs caused by coronavirus has left Africa needing $1.2tn (£920bn) over the next three years, the International Monetary Fund has said.

IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva said the world "must do more to support Africa to [recover]... from this crisis".

Africa has had fewer Covid infections and deaths than most other continents.

But the World Bank says 43 million more Africans are at risk of extreme poverty as a result of the pandemic.

The economic impact is reversing the trend in recent years of strong growth in Africa, as jobs have been lost and family incomes have been reduced by 12%, Ms Georgieva told a virtual IMF meeting.

To help soften the blow, many African governments have introduced mitigation policies which have cost 2.5% of GDP, she added.

'Difficult choice'
The IMF has given African countries about $26bn to cushion the impact but even with the help of private lenders and other countries' assistance there is still a huge shortfall in funding.

"Some countries are confronting high debt burdens forcing them to choose between debt service and additional social and health spending," the IMF chief said.

As a means to help, she called for an extension of the moratorium by the G20 of debt repayments and wanted more funds to be available to lend.

There have been more than 1.5 million confirmed coronavirus cases in Africa and nearly 37,000 people have died.
