Court Sentences Rivers Serial Killer David-West To Death By Hanging
~1.5 mins read
After about six months of trial, a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Friday, sentenced Gracious David-West, a serial killer, to death by hanging.
Presiding Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebele, while delivering his judgement on Friday said the suspect was convicted of the murder of eleven young women and attempted murder of a prospective victim identified as Benita Etim in a hotel in 2019.

Justice Enebele stated that the prosecution team was able to convince the court that David-West actually killed all eleven women at various hotel rooms in Port Harcourt and other parts of the state.

The court however discharged and acquitted the second defendant in the case, Nimi ThankGod, who is facing one count of misconduct with the corpse of one of David-West’s victims.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that David-West, who was arrested and paraded by the police in September 2019, confessed to killing seven young women; one in Lagos State, one in Owerri, Imo State, and five others in Rivers State.

Counsel for David-West, Vincent Chukwu, in his plea of allocutus on behalf of his client, pleaded for leniency on the grounds that his client is a father of three children.
However, the state prosecuting counsel led by Chidi Ekeh, said the 1st defendant (David-West) didn’t deserve any leniency and urged the court to ensure justice in the matter.
Speaking with journalists outside the courtroom, Ekeh said the judgement would serve as a deterrent to other persons with such criminal, pointing out that the 2nd defendant was freed because it was difficult to prove to the court that the accused committed the crime.

According to Ekeh, “With respect to the 2nd defendant, she escaped by the whiskers, not that the offence with which she was charged was not committed.
“But it was difficult to determine who exactly did it as the witnesses who would have ordinarily provided that answer suddenly disappeared from the state until date.

“I am happy that this judgment was given. It would serve as a deterrent to all persons with such disposition to know that there are consequences.”

MEET CALIGULA: The Most *Disgusting Man In ManKind History
~2.4 mins read
Caligula was the third emperor of the Roman Empire. He became Rome’s ruler at a very young age, and is known for his sadistic and cruel behavior. Even though his reign was very short, only four years, the young Gaius Giulius Caesar Germanicus had in impact on Rome’s history and development. Get a better understanding of Caligula’s life, his mind, and his erratic behavior through these 5 most interesting facts!
1. Debauchery
Are you familiar with the infamous roman culture of
debauchery?
let me paint a mental picture to you...
let say a friend hosts a party! lets assume that friend is rich, and influential.
a debauchery will occur when there is booze and more than six participants who have sex together. IN THE FULL GLARE OF EACH OTHER
lets call this a 3'some mutiplied by 10.
in Emperor caligula's time debauchery was like a popular sunday service.
1. GAIUS GIULIUS CAESAR GERMANICUS ALSO KNOWN AS CALIGULA.
When Caligula was a child, he was often taken to the battlefield by his father, Germanicus. Since a toddler he would dress in miniature armour, amusing the fellow soldiers who would ironically call him “caligula”,meaning “little soldier boot”.
Germanicus junior never appreciated the other soldiers making fun of him, nevertheless the nickname stuck and, with time, it became so popular that it finally eclipsed his real name.
2. CALIGOLA LOVED GETTING THE CROWD “INVOLVED”
It’s said that whenever Caligola would get bored at the gladiatorial games, he would order his soldiers to throw in the arena a dozen of people from the crowd. In this way, Caligola would involve the crown in totum, allowing them to truly participate in the games held in the Colosseum.
3. EMPEROR AND GOD OF ALL
Caligula was many things: a ruler, an orphan, a sadist, but also a megalomaniac. One of Caligula’s desires was to be worshipped as the “Neos Helios”, the New Sun. In fact Egyptians would depict him on coins as the God of Sun.
It wasn’t unusual for this emperor to dress up like gods and goddesses, as well as having temples built in his honor. At a certain point Caligula intended to built a statue of him as a God and place it in Jerusalem’s temple but eventually was stopped by the Senate in order to not cause any violent riots.
4. BEST OF FRIENDS with a Horse
We’re used to think that dogs are man’s best friend. For Caligola it was a bit different. In fact the young emperor had a special bond with his horse, Incitatus. According to many historians and writers of the time, Incitatus lived in a marble stable, with an ivory manger from which he would eat barley sprinkled with gold.
Suetonius writes that Caligola loved his horse so much that he proclaimed it a consul - a very powerful position- just to mock the Senate.
5. THE GREAT BATTLE AGAINST THE SEA
Before dying, Caligola led an ill-conceived battle in Britain, reaching as the farthest he could.
So the emperor declared war on Neptune, the God of water and all oceans. Caligula had his men whip the waves of the Mediterranean sea and collect seashells as war prizes.
So these are the facts I believe are most interesting about the character that Caligula was. Let me know if you discover any others while in Rome!

What Are The Lessons People Most Often Learn Too Late In Life?

He died a billionaire at 56 years old from pancreatic cancer, and here are his last words on a sick bed:
′′I reached the peak of success in the business world. My life is the epitome of success in the opinion of others.

But, I have nothing to be happy about except work. In the end, wealth is just a reality of life that I am used to.
It was then, lying on a sick bed reminiscing my whole life, I realized all the recognition and the wealth that I was very proud of, became pale and meaningless in the face of the impending death.

You can hire someone to drive for you and make money for you, but you can't make someone else take the illness from you. Lost substance can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when lost -”life".

When a person enters the operating room, he will find that there is a book that has not yet been read - ′′ The Healthy Living Book ". No matter what stage of life we are in right now, over time we will face the day when the curtain falls.Cherish the family that loves you, love your spouse, love your friends... be kind to yourself.

As we age, we gradually realize that wearing a $300 or $30 watch - they tell the same time.

Whether we carry $300 or $30 purse / handbag - the money inside is the same.

Whether we drive a $150k car or a $30,000 car, the road and distance are the same and we reach the same destination.

Whether we drink a $300 bottle or a $10 bottle of wine - hangover is the same.

The house we live in 300 sq ft or 3000 sq ft - loneliness is the same.

You will realize that your true inner happiness does not come from the material things of this world.

Whether you take a plane on first or on economy class, if the plane collapses - you'll go with the flow.

Therefore, I hope you can recognize that when you have a partner, buddy, old friend, sibling, you talk, laugh, talk, sing, talk about North East Southwest or Heaven and Earth... that is true happiness!!”

Four undeniable facts of life:

Note: If you want to go fast, go alone! But if you want to go far, go together!

“wisdom doesn’t automatically come with old age. Nothing does, except wrinkles. It’s true some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place”

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning is young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young”

He became a celebrity overnight after the release of the first Harry Potter movie in 2000. The actor was 11 years old at the time, and the role put a spotlight on his acting. From that point on, Radcliffe grew up very much in the public eye. He portrayed Harry Potter’s character for 11 years and in a interview he stated that the pressure he put on himself in the role pushed him into alcohol abuse.

Things got worse during the last movie, when he was very concerned about his future and had no idea where his career was going after filming was completed.

The actor said even when he was drinking, people wouldn't just look at him as a drunk man, but say, “Harry Potter is getting drunk”.

Another important role in the Harry Potter’s saga is Hermione Granger, portrayed by Emma Watson.
