Pregnancy is a good thing and often a thing of joy when it comes at the right time and under the right circumstances. With that said is it really ok to get pregnant at an old age? Most women are usually between the ages of 20 and 32 when they have their first baby, if the woman is more or less of the above stated ages then the risk of complications is slightly increased . Teenagers (13 to 19) usually give birth prematurely and have small babies while older women have an increased risk of giving birth to a child with down's syndrome (having an extra chromosome) this usually leaves the child mentally challenged for their entire lives. The age related risk if having a baby with down's syndrome is shown in the picture belowThe only way for a mother and her doctor to know if her baby is affected by down's syndrome on time is to perform a procedure which provides the doctor with some of the babies cells, some widely used procedure include amniocentesis and chronic villus sampling (CVS). However both of these procedures provides a small risk of a miscarriage.I would say it is better to have a baby at an old age than never, how about you?

Mixed reactions as Girl flees with the N1 million that was mistakenly sent to her by a man who wanted to help her in Edo State.
After receiving the money, she met and told a herbalist (Babalawo) to make the man forget about the money.
According to the man who fell victim, he said that the girl’s name is Josephine and they met on Facebook.
The girl chatted him up and along the line, she started begging him for financial assistance that her mother is really sick and needs to take her to a hospital.
When the girl’s disturbance became too much, he promised to send her some money and the girl hurriedly sent her phone number and account number where he will transfer the money to.
After some days, the young man decided to send her the money but mistakenly transferred N1 million to her which was a payment he wanted to make to his business associate.
Upon sending her the N1 million, he still went ahead and sent N5000 to her without even knowing that he had already sent N1 million to her by mistake.
When the young man realised his mistake, he started calling the girl so as to rectify things with her, but her numbers were off.
Hours later, she was finally contacted and when the young man started talking about the money he mistakenly transferred, but she blatantly told the man to stop calling her that he has been scammed.
Few days later, the young man visited State CID (police station) and complained about the issue and the girl was finally tracked and arrested alongside her boyfriend.
It was found out that the girl connived with her boyfriend and they used Jazz (Juju) on the man to make him send that kind of money and forget about it.
Court sentences Rivers serial killer David-West to death by hanging
After about six months of trial, a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Friday, sentenced Gracious David-West, a serial killer, to death by hanging.
Presiding Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebele, while delivering his judgement on Friday said the suspect was convicted of the murder of eleven young women and attempted murder of a prospective victim identified as Benita Etim in a hotel in 2019.
Justice Enebele stated that the prosecution team was able to convince the court that David-West actually killed all eleven women at various hotel rooms in Port Harcourt and other parts of the state.
The court however discharged and acquitted the second defendant in the case, Nimi ThankGod, who is facing one count of misconduct with the corpse of one of David-West’s victims.
The PUNCH had earlier reported that David-West, who was arrested and paraded by the police in September 2019, confessed to killing seven young women; one in Lagos State, one in Owerri, Imo State, and five others in Rivers State.
Counsel for David-West, Vincent Chukwu, in his plea of allocutus on behalf of his client, pleaded for leniency on the grounds that his client is a father of three children.
However, the state prosecuting counsel led by Chidi Ekeh, said the 1st defendant (David-West) didn’t deserve any leniency and urged the court to ensure justice in the matter.
Speaking with journalists outside the courtroom, Ekeh said the judgement would serve as a deterrent to other persons with such criminal, pointing out that the 2nd defendant was freed because it was difficult to prove to the court that the accused committed the crime.
According to Ekeh, “With respect to the 2nd defendant, she escaped by the whiskers, not that the offence with which she was charged was not committed.
“But it was difficult to determine who exactly did it as the witnesses who would have ordinarily provided that answer suddenly disappeared from the state until date.
“I am happy that this judgment was given. It would serve as a deterrent to all persons with such disposition to know that there are consequences.â€
On his part, counsel for David-West, Vincent Chukwu, said he will appeal the judgment.
