Arewa women setting their Vagina on Fire; The Northern Practice
Kayanmata/maza trend
By; Dr Zainab Suleiman
In Nigeria, especially in the Northern part of the country, it is a known fact that women have been known for the use of crude methods to improvise for their sexual deficiencies. They use emergency contraception methods like salt, lime, alum. They even go as far as douching with kerosene and herbal solutions which turn out to have toxic components, a scenario that has adverse effect on their reproductive system.
In a recent study, it is percieved that women believe that douching their vaginas with concussions and other caustic solutions would enhance sexual encitement through tightness or warmth. On the flip side, the health and social consequences of this practice is so alarming and increasingly, evidences are sprouting which suggest some adverse health effects of this practice which include HIV infection, breast and cervical cancer, bacterial vaginosis, inflammatory disease (PID), post-coitus bleeding, which may be as a result of vaginal laceration, hypertrophy and erosion of the cervix, just to mention a few.
It is even an obvious fact that women could burn themselves because the vaginal area is so sensitive to all sorts of receptors and this practice can be painful and later difficult to treat. There is a natural way the vagina cleans itself which doesn't include the steaming process. At the right level, a healthy vagina has a bacteria that keeps its ph constant but disrupting this through steaming or douching portends a great danger.
Available figures have shown that the reproductive health status in the aforementioned region turn out to be the worse.
It is believed that the women who don't have the tightness down there are often ridiculed, thus their penchant and unrelenting efforts to use whatever means to tighten its slackness.
Many girls and women turn to the street products like alum, epsom salts, to help shrink up the vagina. Some get their vulva "cooked" up by sitting on steamy concoctions and smokes so as to stiffen the vagina tissues. All these in the bid to satisfy their partners or to have the opening returned to its primeval size and shape after having several or numerous sex partners that they don't want their partner to have the slightest knowledge of.
These unrefined practices have been proven by studies, especially those in the reproductive health to have injurious effects. And should, by no small means be discouraged in our clime. It's crude and so unacceptable. The use of alum on the vagina is so irritating, especially to its lining, it's so bad under there because it scars the lining.
Most of these products are chemical substances that are meant only for industrial use like in water purification machines, textiles industries and others. In contact with human, they leave lasting, negative effects on the human skin.
Moreover, it is undeniably true that there is a surging increase in the demand for sex - related products in the global world. A growing trend, spurring a boom in the demand for sex - related objects, from lubricants to sex toys, contraceptives and lingerie.
The latest is the notorious herbs and spices that serve as sexual enhancers. These herbs and spices come in varying degrees and types. No thanks to the Nigeria's sex industry which is evolving so fast, albeit the conservative and cultural proclivities that frown at the lewdness of many sexual issues.
These sexual enhancers, popularly referred to as Kayan Mata is widely common and used mostly in the Northern parts of Nigeria by both sexes; the women and men. Although, It's referred to as Maza in the male circus. As these Kanya Mata come in different forms; perfumes, tablets, scrabs and ditches.
According to Faridah Ahmed, a user explains their application and significance to women in her place with the general idea behind it which is to achieve pleasure so much with one's spouse, even to an extent the husband is pleased enough with the woman not to look outside their matrimonial bond.
Nevertheless, a research recently carried out reveals these Sex enhancers have been drastically misused by their users, hence their abuse, with some vendors mixing other products to them to boost their potency, with utter neglect of the harms they could cause. It is evident that there are lots of dangers with the use of Kayan Mata, but sadly, a lot of women do not seem to pay attention to them. Women are therefore warned to desist from inserting or clipping their cervical tissues as this practice can tear the cervical tissues or such women might even risk the growth of cervical cancer.
Men are not left out of this iniquitous practice, as they also use some of these as stimulants and libido boosters but sadly, Maza also make them cancer prone. Prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer are some diseases they can as well subject themselves to due to the prolonged usage of these Sex enhancers.
Many of our men are ignorant of the deadly hazards attached to the use of these products which leaves room for complications to develop and make them die in silence and getting to find out later would make them broken.
According to the Public Health Education, Nigeria with a research project publications in the International Journal of Traditional and Natural Medicines, the use of Kayan Mata has its benefits, but the side effects have overridden such benefits.
Most of these herbal medicines used in the treatment of sexual dysfunctions harbour harmful pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria. The laboratory analysis of some of the herbs come out to show that they can harbour an appreciable amount of bacteria. Interestingly, a host of people do not even bother to wash the wild fruits before being consumed, a situation which raises concerns especially for public health experts.
With the soaring increase in the demand and amount of Kanya Mata market in our societies and its unregulated nature, it's believed that with the unscrupulous merchants in the business of mixing harmful subtances with their concoctions and their unsuspecting customers are left to their mercy to ingest such harmful materials which will later impair them health - wise. And with the toxic chemicals and heavy metals they contain, such can damage their liver and as well as cause kidney failure especially when they react with other drugs in the body.
Moreover, a syndromic behaviour like Kanya Mata Withdrawal demeanour can ensue from this. A symptomatic effect with arises from the discontinuous or reduction in the dosage of some types of drugs. A scenario where a woman who can previously get wet for sex now unable to lubricate for sex after a withdrawal from Kanya Mata; Vaginal dryness.
The Mental Health and spiritual issues that arise from such practice cannot also be wished away. Many mongers and sellers of these sexual enhancers during their advertisement do claim that the materials have magical commands that could help their customers gain undeserved benefits from men, or women but according to a scientific study, many of those who patronise these products do suffer mental health problems after series of disappointments which arise from their usage.
It is worthy of note that favor extracting portions can lead to dire consequences, especially those connected with mental wellness.
It's a common knowledge that herbal medicine have adverse effect when it comes to drug interactions. Most commonly used drugs interact with herbs. The use of Kanya Mata may inhibit the healing effects of medication, common examples are the anesthetics, sedative drugs. They can as well block the medications from working properly and completely in the blood stream. Undoubtedly, this can as well lead to unexpected, dire consequences.
To regulate these materials in order to have their abuse checked, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC whose capacity also span around the manufacture, advertisement, distribution, sale and use of certain products should, as a matter of urgency and priority swing to action to help curtail the mal - handling of these products. A proper product - vetting and laboratory analysis should be employed before these materials are allowed for consumption by their users. And upon being certified for consumption, a registration number should be designated to every sort of the products, all in the bid to ward off unscrupulous vendors of these products.
The Consumer Protection Council of Nigeria should not be left out of the check. They should mandate their agencies to carry out sensitization programmes in form of educating the general populace about the deleterious effects of some of these aphrodisiacs and sex sweetners in the market. Their professional bodies should help develop and enforce quality standard designed to help safeguard the interests of consumers.
Lastly, our women and men should seek alternative and better options than using these products to treat their sexual inefficiencies. They should desist from patronising sex-boosting drug sellers without medical backing and certification. They can simply help their sexual or romantic life by paying visits to a certified sex therapist, which in every way is better than those harmful sexual enhancing drugs, doing so, they are not just keeping themselves away from noxious and destructive diseases but also helping to make the society a better place through their practice and towards wellness.

Please Stop Shedding Innocent Blood In Southern Kaduna
~1.2 mins read
There is no nation development without first tackling and dealing with insecurity
Without security stability they will not be progress
We all have to unité
Take responsibility towards achieving peace
And work together respecting our differences
Our hearts are broken with pain at the senseless deaths caused by violence.
Families mourn, children live in fear, and some now respond by arming themselves with more guns with greater capacity to end life.
Our disconnection and alienation has caused some to turn to guns for protection and safety.
More than ever we need love to flood our hearts and heal our brokenness, and turn us away from violence toward peace.
There are many things worth living for, a few things worth dying for, and nothing worth killing for
Towns are suffering from all these things,
we should unite until we are all satisfied, man cannot be killing each other as if we were animals, as if we had no culture; that is a lack of culture.
War may sometimes be a necessary evil.
But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good.
We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other
The government should at least deal with insecurity inssues in this country for one's
We can't be living is terror
Constant fear
My heart bleeds

BECOMING MICHELLE OBAMA - BOOK REVIEW
~3.6 mins read
This book 📙 is worth Reading 📖
Most especially for young women who want to slay
Best thing you can do for yourself, is to be the woman who wants to grow and add value to herself
When I see successful women and I mean women of substance, my first aim is to read about them
See what they do differently
And learn from it.
Just that most ladies this days don't like reading 📖
Or invest in knowledge
I was having conversation with a friend
He said to me!
You can hardly engage in a decent conversation with an average Nigerian Girl
I felt bad when he said that
But then is very true!
Many of our young girls don't really educate themselves.
After reading this book 📙 I learned something
Every woman want to marry a great man
But only few wants to be great themselves
It's a bad mentality we have due to our bad cultural practice and mentality
I must say our young women don't really have role models
In search for role model in this country entertainment industry is where majority of our women and young girls eat junkies and lifestyle from
What made her stood out
_ Value
Her zeal to self commitment improvement goals and vision
She knows her worth values
And desire to be more
_Women need female friends
For some reason, it’s taken forever for many women to realize the power of female friendships.
Women need each other. Whether it’s for a mood lift, a girls’ trip, to share stories or introduce each other to opportunities .
Not friends that introduce you to their boy friend friends for you to be used as sex tool toy for fun and pleasure or invite you to indecent places for fun,
Permits me to say 70% of avarage Nigerians live life based on social fun and not values
What happen to having friends who propose books saminers comfrances bussines Values and prospect
Self development awareness, politics, strategic development planing investment grooming etc
When I see strong Women of Color I wish our young girls and women could see a mirror of a woman's world and future
Not just becoming a wife or Gf But becoming More
Make Sure you deal with your insecurity before getting married
Developed yourself and improved yourself
Be honest and truthful to yourself
Go for more
Don't feel you are old to work on yourself
_Career Choose Wisely
Don't choose a course /career to pleased any one but yourself
One of the most surprising revelations for me in this memoir was discovering Michelle’s feelings about her career as a lawyer. Even after excelling at university and scoring a well-paying job, she hated being a lawyer. She felt little fulfillment and admits to having “taken the wrong road.†The former First Lady triumphs in the end though because she allows herself to try something different.
So even if you’re fresh out of school with a degree you’re not sure what do with, don’t throw your hands up just yet.
Try something else, and keep trying until you find what works. After all, in the end, all you have is your story, whether or not it’s perfect to anyone else.
Live for yourself sometimes it's necessary because if you haven't discovered you, you can't help anyone else
Live your dream
When fulfilment don't comes from within you are screwed
Don't be afraid to take a Turn
My dream is to see women of color be more
Do more
And be extraordinary
And live a life of Value
To the ladies in the house together we can have more brilliant future, of help and supportive mates to our Husband's children and family.
This areas are the fundamental functional unit of life
A well structured strong women and home will give birth to a better society
Be More!
To Most of our First ladies of Nigeria 🇳🇬
Give yourself to knowledge and exposure
Re- educate yourself for the purpose office
Yes! It's awesome having a queen and king ruling a country.

Don't Force A Man To Love You. See Why
~2.6 mins read
Dear ladies Don't force yourself on a man to marry you or love you
When a man is not ready He is not Ready
â¤ï¸
Love is a gift of nature and should come naturally
Stop being in toxic relationship with the fear that you can't find love some where else
Reason we have alot of broken home, relationship is to due to pressure to settle in
I want marriage ooo
I want marriage ooo
I want to have kids before 30 bla bla bla
Pause â¸
What about yourself, I mean your own happiness
Many of you all you care about is having kids
It's more beautiful having kids birthed out of Love
There is a huge difference in that, even in their life's
Children are not blind you know, you bring kids into your messed up life with selfish intentions and interest without thinking of their future
Just to procreate
What happen to Emotional, and finical supports
What happens to you, being present in their life’s
You create reality that you yourself is absent in
You wonder why we have our young girls on the streets?
How our young men go into frauds, check background
Parent's send their kids abroad to study knowing fully well they can't afford to pay for their fees
Such kids struggle in all ways to survive for example yahoo Yahoo, prostitution, gangs, drugs dealer some
get pregnant 🤰 because they are fall prey to vulnerability
Void, emptiness, frustration is what Most parent gave their children as gift of life
Even here in Nigeria, you see parental néglecting
Children on the streets belonging to parents who don't care
Why must you procreate and invite innocent children into your life? When you know you aren't going to be present in their lives?
Imagine couples fully knowing well they aren't inlove but the two parties will go ahead and have kids
Kids for what?
To offer them miserable life or lifestyle? I don't just get
Most homes some parents aren't stable
Bad words, negative words from parents to their kid's
Before you blame the society
You screw them up 👆 first
You thought them self-hatred, agony of life, pain of living life
You as parent took dignity from them.
Have asked few friends around me why did they get married
Many said
They were of age
He said: he loves me!
He said he wants to marry me!
Sweetheart it's not a good reason
Most marriages don't work because people pretend to get married
There is more to sex and just having kids
The child you have, do you have them out of love or just necessity?
If you don't know there is a big difference it will play in your child's development . I want you to know that it does
Reasons why most people are frustrated in life 85% is from the word* Family 👪 *

The Girl 👧
~3.6 mins read
BEFORE ANYTHING, EMPOWER THEM FIRST.
Every girl has a story to tell but in most cases their stories are usually a painful narration to listen to. This thought have been turning and tossing in my head for a notable period and with as much effort I have applied forcing myself to forego the situation , I have felt more anguish to my conscience.
In modern day and a few decades that have passed before my sight, I have noticed how vulnerable the girl child have been. Regardless of being left in the front line of the firing zone, we all tend to ignore them and blame them on most if not all decisions they make. In most cases they are then forced to make decisions that have regrettable repercussions.
Having been defined as the weaker gender since birth, we tend to weaken them more and more with each year they survive the harsh grinning monster that faces them everyday. To begin with the girl child is seen as a liability in the families they are brought up, being made to feel that they have certain responsibilities that are attached and expected of them. It seems as if the female child is brought up being groomed on how to become a wife and a mother, apart from that nothing is expected of them. Instead of appreciating them we tend to depreciating them, we dim their future thus resulting in most of them becoming mere gratification objects for males.
In most parts of the world the cultural mindset, religious set up, political structures and social norms expose the girl child to numerous vulnerabilities that are beyond imagination. In most poverty stricken countries and communities it is a challenge to see a girl being enrolled into primary education, even after enrollment up to completion the rate at which they drop out is highly alarming. These drop outs are mainly as a result of many factors that vary from child marriages, culture, religion and even stigmatisation. Child marriages have exposed many young girls to maternal death even if they survive maternal death they still remain at a high risk of cervical cancer let alone the aftermath of living with "Fistula", what an agony the girl child have to bear. On numerous occasions the male counterpart tend to overlook the psychological effects of stigma that the girl suffers especially when they go through the adolescence stage. At this stage it is natural that the menstural cycle commences, hence the girls begin to skip classes due to stigma, let us teach our boy child that it is nature fulfilling its course.
I once argue with an educational officer over the dismissal of female students due to pregnancy. My argument was that in some cases the male responsible for impregnating the female student will also be at the same school yet only the girl is kicked out of school. After going through such discrimination the girl always find it difficult to come back to school, that is an indirect denial of access to education. Wicked cultural practices and religious beliefs makes it normal if the girl child is violated and no man have ever stood up to oppose it, where are we men?
Physical mutilation and piercing of their body parts is enforced on the poor innocent girls as they will be helplessly following cultural practices. Look at what happened to the Chibok girls of Nigeria all in the name of religion or might I say terrorism. An open display of abuse that have been left to vanish just like a small puff of smoke, men let us have a merciful heart in our deeds.
Due to many early childhood challenges the girl child is devalued to the extent that she is prone to be raped, trafficked mainly for exploitation and suffer gender based violence even later in her adult life. Politicians are the most of those that constitute governments in most countries ,rallying up people by making up empty promises just to get into power. Availability of water and sanitation is taken lightly by these politicians yet it is the females who suffers the most when such resources are not easily accessible. Imagine in most rural areas whether in under developed or developing countries scarcity of clean water means that they have to walk for long distances to get the precious liquid. If the United Nations made it a declaration to make condoms free why not sanitary pads, I hope this gets across to those hypocritics.
I once talked with a certain lady whom I always referred to as happily married only until she mentioned how she felt unfulfilled. Each time she came across her peers she felt belittled because she did not have the opportunity to complete her studies and pursue her dreams due to economical constraints, a pity side of the coin it was.
I dare every responsible person especially men to empower your daughters and the girl child at large. Do not just teach them to cook, do nails or sew instead show them to how the hammer works, how those cables are connected and to say out their mind without fear or favour. Empower them first and prove to them that you are men enough.

WE ARE ALMAJIRI
We are Almajiri
We are children of little hope
Rambling down the Northern States of Nigeria wobbly
We are Amajiri, crops of scavengers in disguise.
With our wrinkled faces and decayed teeth chanting “babiallah”
For us, it's the best way to survive
Left overs for dogs we begged,
Just to have something to calm our crying stomach
Turn and turn like soldier ants building a heeve we go along the market square for help
Marching and touring the streets of town
With no western knowledge, we care not
After all, we recognize food when given
And when the sun draws it curtain to rest for the day
On the streets we lay back and bare,
Whenever the night catches us like group of goats without owners.
Our cross hung on us till death.
On carts and horses we came across the sand dunes of the Sahara,
With its cold at night beating us with its slaps
'Sadaka', we asked for,
the world is our family,
our life and death. 'Almajiri' we are, a destiny chosen by Mahaifa
Some of us have dug outs
Where they rest their back to chew the day's curb like goats
In the heart of the night, the thick cold of breeze blew over us
Lying hopelessly under the watchful eyes of God
With the early morning sun we rise
To seek for alms from the passerby,
We seek for a placent future Said the Almajiri Child.

The Youth Don’t Want To Work, But Want To Be Rich.
~1.4 mins read
A lot of us want to live a life that we can't afford. We just want to live for today which is a very bad mentality we have in Africa, and also amongst Nigerians. Poor people’s mentality that is what it’s called. How on earth will you be using a phone of 30 to 3000 thousand naira and yet your bank account is empty? You don't even have a penny or a dime to your name. No asset, no investment, no business plan, nothing at all. I really feel so bad to those who watched my video this morning. High class life will not kill us.. Lavish life, lavish spending yet you’re still broke. Begging from friends, no food on the table. To the ladies you have to understand that even if you wear the fanciest of all things (clothes, shoes, bags),you don’t have to follow a man because you want to feed yourself. How many decent people have you heard/seen yahoo yahoo boys use for money or is it a rich man's child? You want to reap where you did not sow. Guys are not left out. Big boy this big boy that. I’m the one in vogue. Please humble yourself. Look for decent and clean money. Do legit business. You know you can deceive everyone but don't deceive yourself.. With this kind of lifestyle, the average Nigerian youth are living. Eradicating poverty might really take us a while.. We want to live life that we can’t afford and with the little we have in our hands, we are still poor because of our mentality ... Invest, have savings to secure your future. The crime rate is increasing drastically, our ladies turning into prostitutes. In order to make quick money, people are becoming criminals and fraudsters. The kidnapping rate is worse. The youth don’t want to work, but want to be rich. How is that possible? Who bewitched us?
