Battered plantains is a delicious way to enjoy plantains. The plantains are battered in a flour mix and fried in oil. It is delicious and easy to prepare.
In this article, I will be sharing with you an easy recipe on how to prepare Battered plantains in your home without stress.
The ingredients used to prepare Battered plantains are very affordable. Without any further ado, let's get into how to prepare Battered plantain.
Ingredients.
1. 1 Plantain..
2. 1 egg.
3. A pinch of Baking soda (optional).
4. 1 stock.
5. Pepper to taste.
6. Salt to taste.
7. 2 teaspoons of Plain Flour
Process.
1. Start by breaking the egg into a bowl, season with the stock cube, add the pepper, the salt and the baking soda.
2. Thoroughly mix these well then add the flour and then gradually add the water until you get a thick batter.
Set aside.
3. Peel the skin off the plantain then slice the plantain thinly in diagonal shapes or any shape of your choice.
4. Now dip the plantains into the batter and coat them thoroughly in the batter.
5. Place the battered plantain in the frying pan of hot oil and leave it to fry until it browns over. Once the bottom is ready, flip it over so the top can brown over as well.
Once done, your battered plantain is ready to be eaten. You can enjoy this as a snack on its own or with Pap (ogi, akamu), custard etc.
