OIL MARKETING COMPANIES TO CEASE OPERATIONS ON OCT. 17
~0.7 mins read
Oil Marketing Companies have released a joint press release revealing that they will cease operations on Monday 17 October.

The reason is because of the government pricing structure over the last 3 months, which has put at risk the continuity of businesses in the sector.

"The bottom line is, we are on the brink of closing our businesses with millions of dollars in debt and therefore wish to inform you, the general public that we have no other choice than to cease operations by Monday 17th October 2022.

Because the pricing of fuel is 100% controlled by the Government, we plead to the Government to offer a long-term and practical solution before the situation deteriorates further". Read the end of their statement.

Now the government must act swiftly to avoid another crisis. These are the moments that will mark Barrow's time in office, let us hope for our sake, his government rises to the occasion.

CCTV At Mile 2
~0.4 mins read
The Abubakary Jawara Foundation has offered to install 72 CCTV cameras at the State Central Prisons amid reports of security concerns.

The Foundation has already donated 50 mattresses and 25 giant fans worth over D207, 000 to Mile II following a moving media report on the National Assembly Human Rights Select Committee visit at the Prisons. Lack of proper ventilation was among issues highlighted in the report.

Prisoners are still people at the end of the day, so glad to hear conditions will improve. Let's hope it helps them rehabilitate.
