~1.1 mins read
The Katsina State Police Command says three members of the Hakika Islamic sect have been arrested for conspiring and jointly having carnal knowledge of a married woman under the guise of indoctrinating her into their sect.
The Hakika sect has allegedly been recruiting and indoctrinating adherents into their radical teachings which are similar to those of Boko Haram. Activities of the sect allegedly include non-adherence to five daily obligatory prayers, non-observance of Ramadan fast, promotion of fornication, and adultery, among other things.
According to the police, trouble started when the lady’s husband, Isiyaku who had been in Lagos for over one year seeking greener pastures returned to their Wardanga village, Katsina State and found his wife with a four month-old-baby girl.
Isiyaku, who left his wife, Zainab Ahmed in the care of her parents, discovered that she was impregnated after three members of the Hakika Islamic sect from the same village brainwashed her and had sexual intercourse with her. He then rushed to the Danja Police Division and reported the development to the police.
In the course of the investigation, Zainab Ahmed confessed that she had indicated an interest in joining the sect, and they told her that the initiation/indoctrination process involves them having s*xual intercourse with her which she consented to.
“The suspects – Tukur Dan-Azumi, (m, aged 19), Abubakar Yahuza, (m, aged 20), Rufa’i Saosi, (‘m’, 27) all of Unguwar Dantalle in Katsina State, are now chilling in police custody.

Liverpool midfielder, Georginio Wijnaldum, will reject the club’s offer of a new contract, in a bid to realise his boyhood ambition of playing for Barcelona, the UK Mirror reports.
Wijnaldum’s contract expires this summer and a move to the Nou Camp is now looking very likely.
The 30-year-old is drawn to Barca, because of their tradition of fielding Dutch players and the opportunity to work with compatriot, Ronald Koeman.
A source said: “Barcelona has always been a big draw for him.
“It’s a similar situation to when Gareth Bale left Tottenham for Real Madrid in that it is his ultimate destination.â€
Liverpool have tried to persuade Wijnaldum to extend his stay with them.
But they also increased midfield competition by signing Thiago Alcantara during the summer.

80 travellers tested positive for COVID-19 seven days after arrival – PTF
By Temi Banjo /
National coordinator of the presidential task force (PTF), Sani Aliyu has revealed that there were 80 positive Coronavirus cases recorded out of the 2,403 tests carried out on international travellers.
The PTF said this on Tuesday September 29, while stressing the need for travellers to undergo another Coronavirus test seven days after arriving the country.
Aliyu who noted that the patients arrived in the country with a negative PCR test, added that a repeat test would have been unnecessary if the country had a system of enforcement of isolation such that everybody coming into the country self-isolated effectively for two weeks.
He also directed international travellers to undergo Coronavirus tests only in private laboratories listed on the travel portal of the government.
