Top 5 Ways To Make Money Online Without Paying Anything
~7.1 mins read
Are you interested in learning how to make money online without paying anything?
You are not alone…

One of my readers recently sent me a message asking if there are ways Nigerians can make money online without investment.

I provided answers to her via email and decided to share with my other readers who might be interested in building multiples streams of online income without having to spend a dime.

As a matter of fact, there are tons of online money making opportunities on the internet Nigerians can benefit from. However, some of them require investments.

This can pose a huge challenge for anyone who’s cash strapped or facing financial difficulties but still want to make money online.

Not anymore…

I will show you how to take advantage of several easy ways to earn on the internet for free.

But, like I’ve always said, before you think of venturing into any online business, you need to own a smartphone, computer and a good internet connection.

Without all that you can’t work online.

Data plans in Nigeria are not free; however, it’s safe to admit they’ve been quite cheap in recent times, so that shouldn’t be much of an issue.

What I mean by you not having to spend anything is that you won’t need to pay anyone a dime to make money using the ideas I’ll share with you.

Here are the ways you can make money online without paying anything:

1. AdSense for hosted contents

Google AdSense is the world’s biggest and most popular contextual advertisement company, and is one of the many smart ways people make money online without paying anything.

To get an AdSense for hosted content account approved, you need to own a property in one of the three largest Google-owned platforms, which are:

1. YouTube

YouTube is the world’s second largest search engine after Google search. Virtually everyone in the world know YouTube. People who don’t are probably living in caves.

Before I understood a lot about YouTube, I always wondered why people would pass on their professional knowledge for free.

Imagine professional caterers uploading free videos to teach you how to make some of the best recipes from around the world.

Although you watch those videos for free, the owners of those videos monetize them with Google AdSense.

YouTube is a completely free to use platform. You too can upload videos to teach the world what you know and get paid for doing so.

2. Blogger

Blogger is owned by Google, which also happens to own AdSense. It is one of the oldest blogging software in the world.

You can create a blog for free using Blogger and monetize that blog using Google AdSense or any other means possible.

If you’ve been following Linda Ikeji, Nigeria’s most popular gossip blogger, then you’d know she also got her blogging career up and running for free using Blogger.

3. PlayStore

PlayStore is the official marketplace of all android phones and is also owned by Google. You can upload your app for free and through that app get Google AdSense (AdMob) approval.

If you know how to create mobile apps, then it is another huge opportunity to make money for free online.

Creation of mobile apps is not difficult. You can learn app development for free using several free YouTube videos.

You see, I told you…

…you can learn almost everything for free online.

2. Freelancing

A freelancer earning and making a living Freelancing is another option for anyone looking to make money online without paying anything.

A freelancer or freelance worker is someone who offers his services on freelance sites and is contracted to clients for short-term jobs.

I shared a list website where you can get home based jobs in Nigeria. All of the websites I shared require zero payments. You can begin selling the minute after you create a freelance account.

Popular among them are:
PeoplePerHour
Fiverr
Freelancer
Upwork

Services you can render on freelance sites can range from professional to non-professional services.

1. Freelance writing

If you’re a skilled writer, you can offer your services on those freelance platforms I listed above or other websites like iWriter created specifically for writers

On freelance writing platforms, you can become a ghostwriter, resume writer, creative writer, blog post writer, or offer any form of writing jobs you feel you’re capable of handling.

2. Freelance graphic design

This is another service you can render as a freelancer on freelance platforms. There are several freelance graphic design sites on the web you can sign up with for free and get graphic design jobs.

As a graphic designer, you can get jobs in design related categories like Logo design, Greeting card design, etc.

3. Freelance Typing

Offering typing services on freelance sites is another way to make money off freelancing without investing a dime.

The most popular typing services I know of is Transcription. You can easily offer that service in return for money.

There are several other services you can render on freelance platforms. I recommend you visit each of those websites to browse through the list of services available and know the ones you can render.

3. Taking Paid Surveys

A paid survey website allow you to take survey on the regular consumer products you use in exchange for paying you certain commissions.

Paid survey companies are quite new and there are only a handful of them in Nigeria. However, over the years, they’ve continued to experience massive growth.

Most survey sites are free to join. In other words, you don’t have to pay anything to begin to take surveys on those sites for money.

Popular survey sites available in Nigeria are:

Mobrog
Triaba
Opinion World

There are several international survey companies you can register with. However, most of them only payout with PayPal, which currently doesn’t support funds reception in Nigeria.

If you visit a survey site that asks you to pay to take surveys, then it’s very likely to be a scam survey site.

Whatever you do, just make sure you don’t join any survey site without carrying out proper research on it first.

Also, make sure you join as many survey sites as possible. This will increase your chances of making more from taking surveys online.

4. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a multi-billion dollar industry that keeps growing every single year.

An affiliate marketer is a person who promotes or markets affiliate products in exchange for receiving commission for sales made or leads generated.

Affiliate marketing can be started without investment. I’ve seen affiliate marketers who use the platform to promote their affiliate products.

After joining any affiliate program, it is left for you to decide how you wish to promote your products, provided it doesn’t go against the terms of the affiliate company.

CPA marketing is one of the most common ways affiliate marketers make money online.

You can perform CPA marketing using a Facebook page, YouTube or any other platform that can help you connect with an audience for free.

Affiliate marketing can also be done verbally. Just like the marketing department of a bank, where marketers get paid commissions for people who create bank accounts through them.

For instance, if you have a Payoneer account, you automatically become an affiliate if you decide to refer other users to register with Payoneer.

Payoneer pays both the referee and referrer a commission of $25 for every successful referral that receives payment to the tone of $1000.

Not just Payoneer, several other online companies have a referral or affiliate program.

I must admit, though. Affiliate marketing requires a lot of time to master.

Taking courses from reputable institutions and investing money increases your chances of earning quickly.

5. Teach online courses

For you to be able to teach online courses, then you must be skilled at something and be able to communicate your knowledge in the form of an eBook or video lesson, etc.

If you wanted to get this done on your personal website, then you have to spend money build that site.

Since you’re interested in making money online without spending anything, I recommend you start your online course tutorship on already established platforms.

Online course platforms allow you to list your course for free in exchange for getting small commissions from whatever sales your courses generate.

The most popular online course platforms are:
Udemy.com
coursera.org
lynda.com, etc.

There are tons of other websites you can offer and monetize your courses for free.

Final words

Whichever among the ideas you decide to build upon, just make sure you learn a lot and do a lot of readings to help you get started.

Making money online is not as easy as it sounds. Even if you’ll not need to invest money to get started with the businesses I shared above, you need to invest your time and effort.

Which of those methods do you wish to apply? I look forward to hearing your views

Now that you have a list provided them with value, it’s time to think about the ways you can make money with your newsletter.

The most important thing to remember when exploring ways to monetize your email list is to make it relevant to your audience.

You can use your list and make money by:-

Affiliate marketing
Sell your own products
Get paid to send your subscribers to other sites
Sell sponsor ads
13. Language Help

If you know more than one language you can help others by:-

Why not build an online course and sell it on udemy.com or any other sites which sell courses… Or perhaps, Work as freelancer translator on freelancer.com, upwork.com.

14. Write an Ebooks

Write an in-depth ebook about something you love and are good at. Sell it on Amazon, affiliate programs, Facebook, Instagram and other ad platforms!

If you are good at anything, it’s researching and writing. With the Amazon Kindle store, anyone can publish an eBook and make money.

And the Kindle app is now available on almost any device (laptops, iPads, smartphones and yes, Kindles) so your global market is huge!

List your book for £1.49 – £6.99 and you earn 70% of the sale. Considering Amazon is the ultimate selling machine (and remember people are looking to spend), that is a fantastic deal.

The key to success with eBooks is to create value, and write non-fiction. Simply bundling information you have researched and compiled on a common problem (eg. ‘secrets’ to finding a job) and then presenting it in an easy to digest format (an eBook) justifies someone spending a few quid on it.

Another big tip is to have a great cover designed so it stands out, and once your book is live on the Kindle store it’s really important to get some reviews so it shows up higher in results. Encourage readers to leave an honest review at the end of your book.

The best thing about this lucrative idea is that once you’ve invested the time (say 20 hours), you’ll earn a passive income for years to come.

Land Grabbing A Ticking Time Bomb In Anambra
~2.7 mins read
If the rampant land grabbing in Anambra State is not urgently addressed, it could spiral out of control, creating a situation that no government can manage, stakeholders in the state have warned.

According to landlords and land owners both at family and community levels, these land grabbers, often posing under false pretenses, exploit legal ambiguities and corrupt networks to unlawfully seize land from rightful owners. The growing menace, they note, threatens to undermine property rights, destabilise communities and erode public trust in governance. As stakeholders’ cries reach a crescendo, they warn that the unchecked actions of these individuals could lead to a loss of faith in the legal system and create an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among landowners.

They advise that state authorities take decisive action, enforce strict regulations and hold offenders accountable to prevent the issue from becoming an insurmountable crisis.

A former legislator in Anambra State, Mr Anthony Okafor insisted that protecting the rights of citizens and maintaining social order must be a top priority to ensure the long-term stability and prosperity of the state.

He revealed that land in some communities in the state was becoming a scarce commodity, adding that so many powerful people were swooping on people’s land without the government checking the trend. Okafor urged the state Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, to act on the findings of any White Paper resulting from panels of inquiry established by the state government. These inquiries were set up to investigate land grabbing activities that have reportedly led to loss of life and property destruction in various parts of the state. Addressing the ongoing communal conflicts in the state, Okafor called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to release the findings of any investigations into land issues in Anambra State. He emphasized that making these reports public could help facilitate resolutions between the disputing communities and promote peace. He observed that certain influential individuals, posing as members of the Land Management Committee in the state, exploit this position to manipulate members of conflicting communities. These individuals use the situation to extort and illegally seize land, taking advantage of the disputes for their own gain.

Okafor stated that the government should build more roads in the rural areas as a way of opening the areas to attract the working class. He added that if there are roads, companies will be located in the areas and help to stem the land crises in crisis-prone areas.

Mrs Chinwe Okonkwo, an estate agent who hails from Anambra State, noted that the need for the government to intervene on these land crises is very urgent because when big companies begin to focus on the areas, the crises that will envelop the area will be much. According to her, most of the residents are living in their family house while in the major cities those who live in rented apartments suffer the problem.

According to Mr. David Obodoeze, a property developer, while a challenging economy presents obstacles, it also offers opportunities for growth and innovation in the real estate industry. This is why the Governor should even delve into the disputed land and cite serious development industries there. “Embrace these changes by analysing the market, enhancing your digital presence, diversifying services, and focusing on client relationships. By doing so all these land owners who are in crises will find a way to settle without the Government hearing about it. By making these strategic adaptations in your daily business practices, the governor will position not only to survive but to use the way and settle communal crises in the state.

Stay resilient, stay informed, and remain flexible in your approach. When other state governors are backing away because of political leanings, you will be making progress and stay on course. Embrace these changes, and let them fuel your success in the dynamic world of real estate,” he asserted

Nigerian Meat Pie With Pork Mince And Bacon
~3.5 mins read

Meat pie is one Nigerian snack I love, love, love! I’m forever experimenting with fillings. So far, I’ve posted Beef mince filled pies and shredded chicken filled pie recipes.

Had an unusual order for Pork meat filled meat pies at the weekend and though to document the recipe, you can’t have too much meat pie recipes now, can you? You do not have to use Pork for this recipe really, any mince type will do really.

So, let’s begin.

Nigerian meat pie

Filling Ingredients:
300 grams Pork mince

100g Chopped Bacon

1 Big Irish Potato, diced

1 Big Carrot, diced

Medium Onion, chopped

2 Heaped tablespoon Plain Flour

11/2 cup Water

1 Cooking Spoon Vegetable Oil

1/2 Teaspoon Thyme

2 Knorr Chicken Cubes

1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder

Salt to taste

Dough Ingredients
500 Grams Plain Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1 Teaspoon Sugar

250 Grams Margarine/ Butter

1/4 Cup Water

Pinch of Salt

Filling Method:
Place a pot or wok on a hob on medium heat. Add the vegetable oil, when it’s hot, add the Bacon and cook till done. Then transfer the bacon into a plate, leaving the oil in the pan.

Place the pan back on the hob, add the onions and sauté till translucent…

Now add the Pork Mince , stir thoroughly to break up clumps. Add the Curry, Thyme, Garlic Powder and Sakt to Taste. Be careful when adding Salt, remember Bacon is quite salty. Fry for 2-3 minutes or till it loses its pink colour.

Now, add the diced potatoes and carrots…

Now add a cup of water, cover and let it cook till the vegetables are soft…

meat pie filling

While that’s cooking, mix 2 tablespoons of flour with 1/2 cup of water, mix till you get a milky consistency and set aside. When the vegetables are well cooked, add the flour and water mixture, mix thoroughly…

meat pie filling

Now switch off the heat and let it continue to simmer with the residual heat. Your end product should look like this:

Now set aside. It’s time to prepare the dough…

Dough Method:
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Run through a sieve to get rid of clumps. Then, add the butter.

Mix the butter with the flour till you get a sandy like consistency. Then, add the water gradually, be careful not to pour it all in at once, you may not need it all.

Then, work the mixture till you get a non sticky dough, like this:

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Now, wrap it up in cling film and leave in a fridge for about 1/2 an hour. After half an hour, take it out and place on a flat surface. You’ll notice the consistency of the dough has improved and is more manageable. Now knead for a bit, be careful not to over work your dough, then cut into smaller pieces and roll, get yourself a dough cutter or just a saucepan lid and cut out circles. The size of the circle will depend on your intended pie size.

Now scoop up 2-3 tablespoons of filling unto the middle of the cut out dough; making sure there’s enough room to seal it up.

Now, whisk the egg into a small container. Dip a brush into the egg mixture and rub it on the edges of the dough, this will help it seal properly…

Close the meat pie up, using a fork to press down the edges..

Now, place on a baking tray, you can oil up the baking tray with butter to avoid sticking to the pan, alternatively, line up the tray with a foil paper or grease proof paper. Repeat the same with all dough rolling, cutting and filling process till you’ve exhausted your dough and filling. Place all the pies on the tray and lightly rub the egg on each dough.

If your pies are quite big, you may wish to pierce each dough using a fork to allow steam escape during baking. Now, place in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.

Depending on your kind of oven, you may need to turn the pies over at some point to allow them cook on both sides.
They’re ready when they are fully cooked and begin to brown on the outside.

So, will you be replicating this easy Meat Pie recipe?
