Cristiano Ronaldo: 101 Goals For The Portuguese Striker Include 9 Hat Tricks And 24 Headers.
~1.2 mins read
Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to break the records and set unparalleled numbers. The Portuguese striker has now scored 101 goals in the colours of his nation. A huge 9 hat tricks, 24 headers explain how Ronaldo 's goals for Portugal exceeded a century.
After Iran's Ali Daei, who has 109, Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the second man to cross a century of goals for his country-and is the first European ever to touch Ferenc Puskas, with 84, next nearest to three figures.
After netting its 100th and 101st international goals in Portugal's 2-0 win over Sweden in their UEFA Nations League clash, the Portuguese striker further validated his Greatest of all time status.
After firing an unstoppable freekick into the top corner of the post the Juventus attacker reached the milestone in style to give his side the lead just before the half-time whistle.
He then completed his brace in the 72nd minute with another stunning strike as his side cruised to a 2-0 win after the meeting. Also Ronaldo becomes the man with the most foreign goals scored by a player currently involved. Behind him are the Sunil Chhetri of India(72) and that Argentinean man(70). His brace against Sweden on Tuesday night, September 8, means the striker scored 7 goals against the country and the same goes for Lithuania according to the ESPN Stats and Information Group.
For his country Portugal, CR7 has 9 hat tricks. A European man-with Sweden's Sven Rydell (who played between 1923-1932)-is tied for the most international hat tricks. Ronaldo is the only European player to score in 10 consecutive international events (4 x Euros, 4 x World Cups, 1 x Confederations Cup, 1 x League of Nations). As a 30 + -year-old he has scored more goals than Sergio Aguero has in his entire international career (41), ensuring that Ali Daei's world record won't stand for much longer.
