Tottenham Sign Gil With Lamela Moving To Sevilla In Exchange

Tottenham Hotspur have signed Bryan Gil from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela joining the Spanish club as part of the deal, the Premier League side announced on Monday.

Gil has agreed a contract until 2026 with the north London club.

The 20-year-old winger will link up with his new teammates at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following the conclusion of the football tournament at the Tokyo Olympics, where he is representing Spain.

This transfer agreement ends Lamela’s eight-year stint at Spurs.

The 29-year-old Argentinian joined from Roma in August 2013 and made 257 appearances in all competitions.

“A club man through and through, we wish Erik all the best for the future,” said Spurs in a statement on their website.

Woman Prays Court To Recover 70,000 Loan From Ex-husband

A housewife, Bilkisu Muhammad on Monday prayed a Shari’a court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna to recover N70,000 from her former husband, Kamal Rabiu.

The complainant said she lent N75,000 when they were married and he paid back N5,000 only.

She said that Rabiu, who divorced her, also took away a 6kg gas cylinder, food flask, washing bowl, wrapper, jug, and cup.

In his reply, Rabiu, said he is aware of the loan.

”I only took the washing bowl and have no idea of the other items,” he said.

He prayed the court to give him until August to pay the debt.

The Judge, Malam Murtala Nasir, asked Muhammad to produce her witness who can testify that the items she listed were taken by Rabiu.

He adjourned the matter until Aug. 3 for Rabiu to swear that he did not take Muhammad’s belongings.
