A video trending on social media has shown an altercation between Nollywood actors, Jim Iyke and Uche Maduagwu.

A few days ago, Maduagwu had taken to social media to call out Iyke on grounds that he lives an expensive lifestyle in Lagos.

Questioning Iyke’s source of wealth, Maduagwu stated that he heard the fellow actor doesn’t buy expensive clothes in Nigeria but has them imported from abroad.

He wrote, mostly in Pidgin English, “Please, nobody should beg me on this matter because I have already made up my mind on this issue. Is Jim Iyke the only one in Nollywood?

“Look at the expensive lifestyle e dey live up and down in Lagos and Abuja. Someone told me e no dey buy expensive clothes from Naija again, e now import the most expensive ones abroad. Please, what is his source of wealth again?

Any day we meet or see, I go use my Abuja connection to beg EFCC boss to invite am, we never recover from what Hushpuppi do us, now this one is changing expensive cars up and down like Hushpuppi of the movie industry.

“Even if dem pay me ten million naira to enter movie location with am, if e no tell us his source of wealth I go refuse.”

Timi Dakolo Advice's Upcoming Musicians.
~2.2 mins read

Multiple award-winning singer, Timi Dakolo, has advised upcoming singers to be creative and original in their craft. Giving his two cents, the Great Nation singer compared fame to poison stating that it can destroy one’s career in a flash.

The sonorous singer made this statement during an interactive session at The Bridge Church in Abuja, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

“Singing in church is a seed but don’t limit yourself to just knowing how to sing how to make sounds, but you have to bring something different. Do not ignore the practical part of it by rehearsing even if it’s your profession, you must put in rehearsals because it will show during the performance.

“Never judge yourself, start today because you can’t judge yourself now with someone else’s past experiences,” he said.

The popular artiste said that it was essential for songs to leave significant experiences in the mind of listeners. He further advised musicians to avoid being victims of ignorance because pride has led to the downfall of many people in the entertainment industry.

He continued, “Pride will make you be in the same place and others will pass you. Fame is a poison that can destroy you in a flash if you don’t do the right things. To upcoming artistes, do you want to be here a long time or be here for the applause and be famously broke? No idea is a waste in songwriting, so when ideas come your way, you should be able to identify them.”

Dakolo gained prominence in the Nigerian music scene in 2007 when he won the maiden edition of Idols West Africa.

Nigeria Looses To Tokyo
~2.6 mins read

The pair of Ahmed Koleosho and Isau Ogunkunle on Tuesday failed to reach the semi-finals of their men’s team event of the table tennis competition at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

This was after the duo lost 0-2 to the French side in the quarter-finals of their men’s team Class 4 to 5 event of the table tennis competition.

In their fixture at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, the Nigerian pair lost 2-3 in their first game against the pair of Florian Merrien and Nicolas Savant.

The duo won the opening set 11-5, lost the next two 9-11 and 4-11 before winning the fourth set 11-7 to draw level for a 2-2 scoreline in the game.

But they could only fight in the final set, as they could not withstand their opponents’ grit to lose 10-12.

In the second game, which was a singles, the French side brought on Maxime Thomas who beat Koleosho 3-2.

It was a ding-dong affair, with Thomas winning 11-4, losing 11-13, before winning again 11-7.

After losing 8-11 in the fourth set, the Frenchman stood firm to win 11-4 in the final set.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 2-0 lead by France meant there was no need for the third game which would have paired Ogunkunle with Merrien.

The Nigerian team of Ogunkunle and Koleosho had in their round of 16 fixture earlier in the day beaten the Argentine team of Gabriel Copola and Mauro Depergola 2-1.

In their doubles game, they won 3-0 (11-3 13-11 11-7), while Copola beat Ogunkunle 3-1 (5-11 11-9 11-3 11-9) to draw the fixture level.

Koleosho went on to win the second singles 3-1 (11-3 5-11 13-11 11-5) against Depergola.

NAN reports that the 2020 Paralympic Games will end on Sunday.

Real Madrid Finally Sign Camavinga
~1.7 mins read

Real Madrid have signed France midfield prodigy Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes just before the European transfer deadline on Tuesday, the two clubs confirmed.

While Real have been trying to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, it is another exciting French talent who is heading to the Spanish capital.

Camavinga, who is 18 and has been capped three times by France, has signed a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Real Madrid C.F. and Stade Rennais F.C. have reached an agreement over the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, who joins the club on a six-year deal, until 30 June 2027,” said a statement on the Madrid website.

No fee has been published but according to media reports, Real have agreed to pay 31 million euros ($36.6m) plus nine million more in add-ons for a player who was in the final year of his contract in Brittany.

Camavinga, who was born in Angola, joined the Rennes academy in 2011, turning professional when he was 16.

Last September, aged 17, he made his France debut as a substitute in a 4–2 win against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League, becoming the youngest player in the national team since Maurice Gastiger in 1914.

PSG Signs' New Player

Junior Messias completed his incredible rise from delivery man to the Champions League on Tuesday when he signed for AC Milan in a dream move for the former amateur footballer.

Milan are yet to announce the transfer but Messias’ move from Crotone, who were relegated from Serie A last season, has been published on the list of official sales on the Serie A website as a temporary deal.

Brazilian Messias has signed for Milan on a season-long loan from Crotone with an option to buy for a reported five million euros.

The move means the 29-year-old will have the chance to play at the highest levels of club football after beginning his career in Italy in the amateur game a decade ago.

Messias arrived in Italy in 2011 and slowly rose through the lower reaches of Italian football — at one point transporting fridges for a living — before being picked up by Crotone in January 2019.

He helped the southern club up to Serie A and last season scored nine times in 36 league appearances for a team which went straight back down after a year in the top flight.

This term he will have the opportunity to run out at the San Siro for one of the world’s most storied clubs and face fellow European greats Liverpool in the Champions League.
