Labourer Jailed 10 Months For Stealing Doors Frames

A Dei-Dei Grade I Area Court in Abuja on Monday sentenced a 20-year-old labourer, Umar Adamu, to ten months imprisonment for stealing three doors frames worth N45,000.

Adamu, whose address was not given, is charged with criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass and theft.

The Area Court judge, Malam Sulyman Ola however, gave Adamu an option of N30,000 fine.

Ola ordered the convict to pay N30,000 as compensation to the complainant.

Adamu, had earlier pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Chinedu Ogada told the court that the convict committed the offence on July 28.

Ogada said that the complainant, Nurudeen Dan Musa of Jahi village Abuja reported the matter at the Mabushi Police Station on the same date.

Ogade said that the convict and one other person, known as ‘Yellow’ now at large, conspired and criminally went into the complainant’s shop located in Jahi village.

He said that the convict stole three doors frames.

Russia Can Not Be Allowed To Win The War In Ukraine Macron

The French President, Emmanuel Macron said that Russia cannot be allowed to win the Ukraine war, because western countries would support Ukraine for as long as they want and they are ready to ramp up efforts to target Russian's power exports.

Macron while speaking with Group of Seven countries concerning the war in Kyiv, he told the news conference that Moscow is now planning on supporting the Russia's objective to force Ukraine government to surrender.

He said, “I'm praying and hoping that the war would be achieved before this year end, with a truth and a desire, that Russia can not win the war in Ukraine,”

Soldiers and firefighters searched for survivors on Tuesday inside the rubble of a Ukrainian shopping center, in which the authorities said that about 36 victims had been missing after a Russian missile strike the shopping mall killing 18 people.

The French President said that such acts by the Russian government showed that further sanctions were needed and that the G7 would countinue to help the Ukraine soldiers in order to defend themselves. Macron said that those who had committed crimes had to be held responsible for any damages.

“Our aid for Ukraine government and our sanctions in opposition to Russia will stay for so long as necessary and with the vital intensity in the coming weeks and months,” Macron said.
