Police In Osun Caution Against Marking Of Cultism Day

Police in Osun warned on Monday in Osogbo that cultists planning to celebrate “Aug. 8 Cultism Day’’ would face the wrath of the law if they did not shelve the plan.

Vanguard News reported that the Police spokesperson in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, warned that the police would not tolerate any unlawful gathering or assembly that could endanger the peace of the state.

“Intelligence report available to the police indicates that cultists are planning to celebrate cultism on Aug. 8.

“Police hereby warn cultists and other unscrupulous elements in the state to stop the plan or any of such action (s) forthwith.

“The command, in collaboration with other security agents and the civilian Joint Task Force will not tolerate any unlawful gathering or assembly.

“Such gathering or assembly are capable of endangering the peaceful atmosphere of the state as it may lead to bloodletting and destruction of property,’’ Opalola stated.

2023 Election: Wike, Nigerias Next President After Atiku Lamido

Alhaji Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has named Nyesom Wike, the governor of River State, “the natural heir” to the Presidential seat after the presidential candidate of the PDP party, Atiku Abubakar become victorious in the 2023 election.
It was reported by Vanguard that the former Jigawa state governor described Wike as an asset to the People Democratic Party (PDP) and a leader who has overall performance as chief executive of the oil-rich state.

Lamido who said this while speaking with newsmen in his Abuja residence blamed unnamed person close to the Rivers State governor for fuelling problems Wike has been responding to lately, saying that the PDP party should rescue him and prepare him for the future.

Part of his statement read as: “Governor Wike is an asset for the PDP and one of the best leader. If Atiku win the 2023 presidential election, he's the heir to the presidential seat due to the fact he has all the qualification, the experience, the wisdom, the age and the charisma.

According to Sule Lamido, any help or support governor Wike gives to the People Democratic Party (PDP) is because the party has the right, saying that “it is the PDP that made him who he is today” and not the other way round.
