Moms Vs Dads - Where Do Children Get Their Intelligence From
~2.6 mins read
One of the most intriguing questions while raising a child is most definitely, "who has the child took on, the mum or the dad?" From their eyes to hair and their habits, it is quite likely that you can link back their traits to one of the parents. I know many have already started guessing and your guess is as good as mine. However, studies have proved that one particular trait, intelligence, which might divide opinions is inherited from the maternal side!
There’s a very scientific reason why you can thank mother dearest for your smarts.
Moms, you now have one more reason to pat yourself on the back for your kids’ success. And guys, you’ll want to find an intelligent partner now!
Common sense might suggest that children inherit intelligence from both parents. However, the study reports that certain genes operate differently, depending on whether they are from the mother or father. The genes that determine intelligence are located in chromosome X. Because women carry two X chromosomes and men carry only one, children are twice as likely to get their intelligence from their mom. (By the way, the best moms in the world have this one trait in common.) Meanwhile, intelligence genes from the father are deactivated, the study reports
Confused? This sounds like a cheat in a way, like why are the intelligence genes from the father's deactivated.
Remember when people say, an educated mom educates the entire family? Well, it might hold true, after all!
While it almost makes sense that kids inherit equal traits (including their IQ levels) from both parents, a genetic study was done which points out to the evidence that intelligence, particularly, is inherited from one parent, the mothers.
In fact, mom's side of genetics determine how brainy or clever a child is, and the father's genes make little to no difference in honing a child's intelligence.
Science also supports that intelligence is a "conditioned" gene, which usually works when they are transmitted from the mother. Conditioned genes and other cognitive genes are subdued and deactivated when they come from a father's side.
Experts also say that since, in most cultures, moms occupy the role of a primary caregiver, what they do and nurture influences the shaping of their children's brains during their critical development stage.
Hey! Do moms get to play all the roles in ensuring their children smart. The answer is a stern NO!
Moms might have a bigger role to play in making their kids smart, but it just doesn't mean that dads are not doing anything.
Intelligence is a broad concept and as a whole, it is influenced by a lot of factors.
There's no doubt that having an active, connected parent helps the child grow emotionally. Studies have also proven that having a mom who is emotionally viable and present significantly boosts intelligence rates in children. In fact, having emotionally active parents influences children's intellect, cognitive intelligence, personality and rational thinking.
Hence, it is always good if you are able to sustain or share an emotionally strong relationship with your parents! If you have a good IQ level, or everyone considers you a know-it-all, you know who to thank now!

He expressed dissatisfaction with the move to Barcelona in the initial year too. But after being content with his position the following year, he went on to achieve an unprecedented sextuple for the club.

He scored 290 goals for Juventus making him the clubs all time highest goals scorer. With 6 Serie A title, a Champions League and a FIFA World Cup, Del Piero has won them all.

Having gone close to the Champions League on numerous occasions, Drogba admitted before the finals of Champions League the year they won, that if Chelsea did not win the trophy, he’d feel incomplete. He departed as a legend as his last touch of the football for the club resulted in Chelsea winning the famous trophy.

He was also compared to Pele,Maradona and Zidane in his prime and many pundits pipped him to become the games all time greats had he continued there.
A descent spell at AC Milan was overshadowed by his performance for Barcelona. After playing 2 seasons for the Serie A giants, he had another satisfactory spell at Flamengo in 2011-12.
