Practical illustration from the lives of Martha and Mary found in the book of Luke 10:38-42.

Martha and Mary represent two categories of believers you find in church today.

Firstly, those who are carry away by ACTIVITY at the expense of INTIMACY with God.

They can be so devoted not to miss any church activity but are never devoted in their intimacy with God.

They seek public service that will be seen by men and not a secret service that will be seen by God who sees in secret.

They seek the praises of men rather than the commendation of God.

Those that exhibit the characteristics above fall in the Martha`s category.

Nevertheless, there is another category known as the Mary`s category which Jesus Christ recommend to every one of us to learn from.

These are people who pursue intimacy with God far and above any form of activity.

They preferred having a personal life of devotion to God above all else.

They will rather remain at the feet of the Master to learn of His ways rather than rushing to meet the need of others when their own needs are not met.

They have an understanding that until they are helped, they cannot be qualify to help others.

Until they are been ministered to, they can`t minister to others. Until their own weaknesses are handled by the Master, they will not be strong enough to strengthen others.

Hence, they are willing to pay the price to remain at the Master`s feet until His own very nature is formed in them.

Which category do you belong to? Remember, God did not call you first to do activity but to pursue intimacy.

Please place the priority aright.

Only one thing the Master seeks from you and I today and forever- INTIMACY

The society is largely divided as a result of very different activities going on a daily basis, just in an attempt to get success.

It is very unfortunate that no two groups or classes of people can be found standing on the side of life!

While the children stand on one side, parents stand on the other side.

The Rich and the rest of the citizens stand opposite to each in amazement.

Nobody is just ready to let go of pride and agree to the truth about life as professed by another person.

Interestingly, the fight for justice is now real than being professed on paper.

I'm sure Nigeria as a country now knows who the enemy is.

After I followed a series of responses by University Dons and people in the academic empire, I was saddened to discover these persons are at war with each other. Some being in total support against the poor system of government in the country, while others stand in the support cage with the Government because of their selfish desires; while the war between the academia and the government last.

I see a society of very literate people fighting each other through words.

I see a people refusing to agree with the current day realities in Nigeria, how that no life is valued anymore, how that it has become a crime be an average citizens, how that the insecurity of the country has become a fast money making methods with banditry taking the lead.

At some point, I'm tempted to say that our academic institutions are filled with many unqualified people in the administrative sector.

Lots of people are taking side in what is happening in the country.

Protest doesn't work anymore in Nigeria, because bullets will be used to keep you quiet for life. it has now become a crime to talk about what the Government is doing or not doing.

The spirit of religious, political, tribal and other kinds of sentiments have taken over the country.

Nigerians need to wake up from their slumber. The elections are here again, don't sell your right for a penny. Learn to do the needful, remember the decision made in the past 8years is what has given birth to the present day realities in the country today.
I'm optimistic that Nigeria can be great again despite being divided.
We have come a long way to fail. The enemy is just close around and want to make sure the happiness of Nigerians is taken away. Don't be discouraged, don't be distracted, stand up for Nigeria and God will bless you.
