It is called the triangular effect which suggest that as social beings, we are greatly influenced by the taste and desires of other people. We want what other people want and to an extent, we want to collect it from them for ourselves only.

Thus if you are interested in someone, to make them desire you as well, you must make them see you as a person whom others desire and covet. This principle also border on the law of demand and supply; the more demand on a commodity, the more it's value will continue to increase.

If you are looking for a restaurant to eat, you are certainly not going to enter a restaurant that is empty, you would prefer a restaurant where you see other people eating. This is simply the innate nature of man playing out.

To drive home my point, if you are interested in a lady, trying gaining the attention of people around her; it could be her friend or sister. Your desired lady is likely to develop interest in you too because her guess will be that the other person interested in you must have seen value in you.

Lastly, this principle is not just limited to making a woman desire you. It extend to gaining the attention of a possible business partner or even an employer.
