We Can Never Forget The Impact Of 20102020 In Nigeria
~1.2 mins read
20.10.2020
EndSARS!
It's the 2nd year memorial of the historic #EndSARS protests, the day Nigeria failed her citizens. The flag dripped the blood of Nigerian Youths who pledged loyalty to it. Hundreds got killed, and even many more were maimed and unjustly imprisoned.
What was their crime?
Fight for good governance and a better 🇳🇬
The Lekki toll gate was the hotbed of the protests when soldiers from Bonny Camp, 81 Division, fired live bullets at protesters.
...Darkness struck, they removed the cameras, pulled up, and fired directly at peaceful protesters under the guise of restoring order.
It was chaos!
The youths were dispersed and killed with unnecessary and excessive force.
"Arise O compatriots... To serve our Fatherland, with love, strength, and faith," they echoed amidst the brutal killing. (These words are still very much alive in my ears)
NIGERIA FAILED ITS DECREE TO PROTECT THE LIVES AND PROPERTY OF THE CITIZENS.
It's been 24 months, yet the government has failed to bring to justice those responsible. They denied the killings and called it photoshop.
To the blood of the Innocent Youths,
WE are awakened!
WE will shake the system to the core!
WE will never forget!
Our struggles for a better Nigeria and the blood of the EndSARS victims will never be in vain, Amen 🙏
