Meditation is practiced in numerous religious traditions. The earliest records of meditation (dhyana) are found in the Upanishads of Hindu philosophy, and meditation plays a salient role in the contemplative repertoire of Buddhism and Hinduism. Since the 19th century, Asian meditative techniques have spread to other cultures where they have also found application in non-spiritual contexts, such as business and health.

Meditation may significantly reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain, and enhance peace, perception, self-concept, and well-being. Research is ongoing to better understand the effects of meditation on health (psychological, neurological, and cardiovascular) and other areas.

Many see the system as old fashion and yet the system has produced virtually all the political office holders today. In the past the education sector was a critical part of nation building where knowledge is passed from the older generation to the younger once. 

A point to note is fortunately, most of the elite today in Nigeria, where mostly beneficiaries of the free education. The quality of knowledge then was key.  The neglect has course alot to the Nigerians to seek solutions elsewhere. 

A bill has been in the national assembly to this effect but it has not seen the light of the day. Due to an argument that a man with his money has to decision decide. 

Until we see the need, otherwise the system will someday collapse, because those professionals are leaving in their numbers.
