Requirements To Apply For A Bank Job
~1.8 mins read
For those of you interested in banking jobs but not sure whether to give it a go, this post is for you.

Many people often ask how to get a job in a bank with no experience.
In one finance seminar I attended a few weeks back, someone asked the question;
"If you graduate in theatre arts or any other unrelated course and you want to work at the bank, what course do you need to do in your postgraduate programme to qualify for a banking job, or are there any alternative training certifications needed to be able to apply for a bank job?
I want to know what qualifications required for a bank job."

And this was the response she was given from a senior banker in the finance field;
Applying for a banking job is nothing special.
FOR CORE STAFF IN MOST BANKS;
1. Be less than 26
2. Have 2.1 (and above) for most banks, from a RECOGNIZED institution. Any course you study is your business.
3. Apply via the portal, a staff (sometimes they allow junior staff drop one or two CVs).
4. Write the aptitude test.
5. Do interviews with a panel consisting of one or two senior officers – ED/MD.
6. Get into a training school. Score 75% and above for most banking schools. You get paid and fed in your training school with enough activities.

P.S: You fit forget wetin carry you come if you no dey careful. Too many fine boys and girls forming love wey posting go scatter.
In the training school, your course of study would help. Most business students would understand the terms and won’t struggle to grasp it. Engineering students do better in calculation courses once they pick up the basics.
7. Get posted to a unit. The top 3 and memorable students tend to get preference. The rest would end up in Marketing or Operations.
Connection is just a very negligible few

Pro-tip: You can know the banks recruiting now by visiting their official website/application portals.

For instance, if you are interested in working with Zenith Bank, just go to the zenith Bank official website to see their latest job openings.
Entry level bank jobs in Nigeria include the positions of a bank teller or a customer service representative. Most bank entry level positions are contract-based, so make sure you aim higher in your career pursuit!
