Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has named three Chelsea players who could be threats to the Reds ahead of Sunday’s clash, including Kai Havertz.
The weekend’s fixture at Stamford Bridge will be a massive game for both sides.
Liverpool are obviously the favourites to retain their Premier League title, having topped the table by 18 points from the second-placed Manchester City
But it will also be an opportunity for Chelsea and Frank Lampard to make a statement about where they stand after their summer spending spree.
Klopp admitted Chelsea have plenty of players who could cause problems for his team, but specifically mentioned three attacking players.
He told Sky Sports: “There’s plenty of threats, they’ve signed really well and already had an unbelievably good team.
“We had to suffer a lot against them in the games last season.
“Christian Pulisic obviously wasn’t involved [against Brighton last Monday] but he’ll probably be fit for the game, Mason Mount and I know Kai Havertz from the Bundesliga – he will play a proper role this season.
“There are so many good players up front, in midfield, the defensive line, and the full-backs – there’s not one biggest threat, Chelsea themselves are the threat – that’s how it is in football.â€
While Mount and Havertz could be crucial for Lampard’s plan on Sunday, Pulisic who almost sparked a Chelsea comeback in his second-half cameo at Anfield back in July is unfortunately in doubt for the game.
Chelsea Training Session Lampard told Chelsea’s official website on Tuesday that the American had a bit of “discomfort†prior to Brighton game and “had to take a few steps back†but could still be available for Liverpool game.
Interestingly, though, Klopp did not mention Timo Werner.
Although, perhaps he just wanted to avoid any unnecessary questions due to the previous rumours linking the Germany international with a move to Anfield.

Rugby-Argentina Coaches, Players Test Positive For Coronavirus
~1.2 mins read
Sept 10 (Reuters) - Argentina's coaching staff and five more players have tested positive for the coronavirus, adding to the six positive tests announced last week, the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) said on Thursday.
Argentina head coach Mario Ledesma, and assistants Nicolás Fernández Miranda and Juan MartÃn Fernández Lobbe, had returned positives after a new round of testing, the UAR said in a statement.
The five players were Felipe Ezcurra, MatÃas Moroni, Tomás Cubelli, MatÃas Orlando and Mateo Carreras.
"Those infected were isolated, are asymptomatic and in good health," the UAR said.
The UAR revealed over the weekend that six players, including first-choice winger Emiliano Boffelli, tested positive at the team's training camp last week.
Loose forward Javier Oretego Desio tested positive in late August.
The new batch of COVID-19 infections comes with SANZAAR, the governing body of southern hemisphere rugby, poised to announce its decision on re-scheduling the postponed Rugby Championship later on Friday.
The Rugby Championship, which involves Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, was tentatively scheduled in New Zealand in November-December but an outbreak of COVID-19 in Auckland has raised speculation the tournament may be held in biosecure hubs in Australia.
