Is There Stopping Manchester United And Liverpool This Season? READ HERE.
~4.3 mins read
The two big forces of English football in the past three seasons are at it again.
Manchester City and Liverpool both look irrepressible in their current campaign and the question weighing on everyone's mind will take a Houdini act to answer it.
Liverpool looked jet lagged in their slight 4-3 win over newly promoted Leeds United in their first fixture of the season.
Many thought Chelsea would arise from the ashes like a phoenix on Sunday but the Blues were torn apart and dominated for most of the match.
Given the fact that Frank Lampard added many faces to his team, Chelsea were just not a match for the Reds.
Liverpool have stuck to their formidable team that has enjoyed life under Jurgen Klopp.
As always, Virgil Van Dyk has been the pillar of their defence while the front three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have just been at their devastating best.
Salah netted a hattrick against Leeds while Mane grabbed a brace of his own against Chelsea.
Man City, on the other hand, have also proved to be a class act. Having missed Matchday one, they sent the mighty Wolves perking in fine style.
City dominated the match and at one time they had an unbelievable possession percentage of 75-25.
They controlled the match from the onset and made sure they neutralized the Wolves midfield to get the upper hand.
Once Kevin de Bruyne was culled down inside the penalty box, scoring the resultant penalty, it was game over.
Wolves struggled in creativity and they were up against a dominant City side at their best. Without creativity, there is just no breaking down this City side.
While Leeds made Liverpool look like mere amateurs, City were just too brilliant against Wolves.
Perhaps Leeds high pressing game can break down the Citizens with ease.
City are up against another Championship contender in the form of Leicester City in their next match on Sunday.
Liverpool take on the rejuvenated Arsenal on Monday. Both these fixtures are potentially explosive as sides weigh out their options of stopping these two giants.
They are the two teams to stop if we are to have a new champion at the end of the season.

Iheanacho ends three-year Nigeria drought against Tunisia

The forward who was handed a starter’s role against the Carthage Eagles put Gernot Rohr’s men ahead with just 21 minutes in to play.
Iheanacho profited from a pass from Ahmed Musa thanks to a throw-in from Zaidu Sanusi, and he made a nice turn before firing past goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mustapha.
