10 Bitter Truths About Life
~2.8 mins read
Life can be very mysterious and at such, many people tend to live their lives based on some general ideas raised by people. While some of these ideas are true, a lot of them aren't and a only a few know this.
Here are the top bitter truths about life no one has ever told you.
1.Your Appearance Actually Matters.
Many people would tell you that what you are on the inside is what matters. That's not always true! We humans are physical beings and not gods that sees the heart. The way you appear physically is the way people judge you most of the time.
Nobody cares if you're dirty on the outside and clean on the inside or vice-versa. People do judge on appearance.
2.Life is not fair, and no one owes you anything.
The most painful of this truth is that even your parents will systematically throw you out of the house when you reach a certain age! The earlier you know that YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN, the better for you. People will help you if they wish to, but you are not their responsibility.
3.Money Can Actually Buy Happiness.
Let me explain this before you raise your eyebrows at me. Have you ever wondered what you've loved to do that would make you happy but you just don't have money? Well, now you get the point. Many dreams have been shattered and left to die because there was no money to make it a reality.
Even though it is true that money cannot make you a happy person entirely, but trust me it would make you smile.
4.People have their reasons for being around you.
Don't ever think that people around you are there because they like you unconditionally.
People are naturally selfish, so we tend to stick with people that we can "benefit" from. Even Jesus Christ got deserted by people the moment he refused to miraculously provide fish and bread.
5.Not Everyone Practices What They Preach.
In the earlier point I raised, I talked about how we humans care so much of the outside look of things that we forget to work on the inside. This applies to human behaviour too. We want people to have a positive impression of us- we want to appear smart, appear religious, appear nice, making many people to become hypocrites.
6.Being Busy Doesn't Mean You're Doing Something Meaningful.
There's a saying that goes "The busy person is always the laziest" Many people confuse being "busy" with "work". A person can be "busy" watching TV all day! So which one are you doing?
7.You Cannot Please Everyone.
Trying to please everyone can be disastrous for you. Human desires are more than you can think of, so save yourself the trouble. Some people will still groan even when you're doing your best for them.
8.There Is Always Someone Better Than You .
Yeah, you heard me right. No matter how good you're at something, there's always someone somewhere who will make you look like a learner. No man can be the greatest at anything. A person who would do it better will show either in your lifetime or after you're gone.
9.Everyone Is Secretly Competing With You.
This might sound unbelievable but true. No matter how happy people seem to be for you over your achievements, they are secretly wishing there were better than you. This include friends and even family members!
Never feel you're the only person at the top or feel comfortable being at the top. There's a room for overtaking.
