THE PROBLEM WITH TOMATO AND SUGAR SCRUB
~2.1 mins read
THE PROBLEM WITH TOMATO AND SUGAR SCRUB - If you don't know before that scrubs should be cancelled, then listen up, scrubs are cancelled .

This is because the particles used, whether sugar, or salt etc tend to cause micro tears on the the skin.

If you pick out one sugar grain and view it on a microscope, you will see a glass-like material looking like a diamond with different sharp edges.

Now when you scoop the scrub which is like thousands of such sugar grains with thousands of sharp edges and begin to push and rub them against your wet skin which is soften with water, what happens?

You create an injury so tiny to the eyes that the skin has to heal yet again.

So your black spots are already a healing injury, you then create new ones.

"But it worked, I used sugar and tomato scrub and the spots cleared, go and sit down, you just want to sell your product "

Lol,  change is difficult to adapt to.

I get it, tomato and sugar are easy to get and yes it did appear to work, this is why.

It appeared to work because the acid in tomato lycopene and the acid in sugar, that is glycolic will of course react with the new injury you caused on the skin and temporarily fade the spots.

Mind you, the spots that gets faded is spots from mosquito bites or other little spots.

It won't fade deeply entrenched pigmented spots like from a big pimples because those acids are not enough to make any difference in those kinds of spots, so it appears to work for some and don't work for some, it's because of the type of spots treated.

The funny thing is, the spots come back later and worse.

This is because the new injury you caused will heal and become dark and then the little acids from the tomato and sugar that your skin has absorbed and which you didn't protect from sun exposure will further make the new injury sensitive to sun exposure and therefore make the new injury, the acid and old injury bounce back with even blacker spots and initially, when it clears your spots, you put out testimony and many people are "amazed " and quickly follow your routine and after a while, they all come back lamenting, including you.

Whilst these natural ingredients are used in skincare, cosmetic scientists know they need a certain level of glycolic acid and lycopene in sugar and tomato respectively for it to make a difference in your skin.

So just taking sugar and tomato as scrub is often times like pouring water on dry skin in a harmattan, it will give temporary relief but it will soon get drier and more white and make things worse.

SKIN TREAT : BANANA PEEL GLIDE -
~0.9 mins read
SKIN TREAT : BANANA PEEL GLIDE - #SkinTreat - It's another Saturday and if you have an owambe to attend and you're as broke as can be and don't have face masks to plump up your skin before you go show off to friends and you still want your skin to not look like what you've been through and want something you can easily source at home, let's go!

Eat some banana on empty stomach, drink some water. Let the banana release some potassium into you for thirty minutes before eating.

Then get the banana peels, the inside, add some little honey and use to glide over your face and rub it all over.

You know how you've seen videos where if the screen of your phone cracks, you use banana peel over it, put in a bowl of rice and begin to shake it and everything will seal up back! Exactly the same idea.

With banana peel and honey, it attempts to seal up micro tears, cracks and exfoliate the blemishes off your skin.

Wash off with soap and water and apply aloe gel or skin plumping serum on wet skin and you'll be as good as someone who just stepped out of a spa!
