The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has announced the dissolution of the dreaded police formation, Special Anti Robbery Squad.

The dissolution is coming on the hills of the #EndSARS protest nationwide.

The IGP made the announcement on Sunday afternoon in a press conference at the force headquarters.

The SARS, a police unit, has been accused of extortion, intimidation, and murder of many young Nigerians.

It was reported that during the protests, at least one protester has been killed.

The police have also violently dispersed the protest in some Nigerian cities.

A former aviation Minister and foremost chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has likened United States president, Donald Trump to biblical characters used by God to deliver nations and set the oppress free.

Fani-Kayode noted that President Trump is God’s anointed and such no one can stop him.

According to Fani-Kayode, “President Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States of America and the leader of the free world, is God’s annointed.”

Nothing and no-one can take that away from him or stop him. He is the biblical King Cyrus in Isaiah 45. He is God’s “trump card” who came to “build the walls” and through him the walls of the Church in America shall be rebuilt.”

The mainstream media can scandalise and demonise him all they like and they can even get some of his friends, associates, relatives and colleagues to blacklist, demonise, fabricate stories and lie about him just to destroy his credibility and stop him but it makes no difference.”

All of them put together coupled with all the forces of hell and their master satan cannot stop a man who has been annointed and chosen by the Living GOD to lead a nation and the free world. It is what God purposes that matters and nothing else.”

A corporal serving with the 222 battalion of the Nigerian army stationed at Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli North local government area of Delta State identified as Corporal E. E Monday, was among the two persons shot on Saturday during a clash with some armed rampaging youths in Evwreni community.

The immediate past president general of the community, Chief Victor Ohare was not left out as he too also sustained gunshot wounds during the clash in the community which was as a result of agitations that arose following unconfirmed reports of the death of the community vigilante chairman, Tuesday Okuah while in the custody of operatives of the Inspector General of Police, monitoring team at Abuja.

Anti riot policemen again on Sunday in Abuja fired tear gas canisters on harmless protesters calling for the scrapping of the Special Anti Robbery Squad

The protesters who were violently dispersed on Saturday night when the police pushed back and fired teargas canisters at the crowd.

The youths regrouped in their number on Sunday morning at the unity fountain marched toward force headquarters in continuation of their demands for the scrapping of the Special Anti Robbery Squad.

The protesters were chanting; “SARS Must Go; Buhari End SARS Now” in their numbers, wielding placards.

Armed policemen on Saturday violently dispersed the mob when they fired tear gas canisters and disrupted the peaceful rally.

But armed anti riot policemen descended on them at while approaching the facility and fired live ammunitions, tear gas canisters, pepper and hot water at the crowd.

The mob, while advancing toward the police were about kneeling down and raise their hands to signify that they were not violent but met more than what they bargained for as police opened fire on them.

The protesters at first refused to run away despite the shooting of teargas and spraying of hot water until live bullets were fired.

The police water canon trucks were seen chasing the youths in different directions in the city as many of them were manhandled in the process.

ABUJA—About 50,000 federal workers may be retrenched from service in the next three months in line with the on-going reform in the Federal Civil Service.
A source close to the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation revealed that machinery to achieve this purpose has been put in motion to collate the names of the workers that would be eventually laid off.
Those most likely to be purged, according to the source, are the workers in the executive cadre, which is made up of staff on level 17 and above and those who entered the service with Higher National Diploma, HND, who don’t get promoted beyond level 14.
