Security Tips on Nationwide Protest

Be aware of the current protest going on throughout the Nation on the demand to disband SARS, Release arrested Protesters, Reform the Police Force and demand for Good Governance etc.

Based on the above, the Inspector General of Police has announced the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) as a unit of the Nigeria Police Force in all the 36 states of the federation replacing it with Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). 

 Despite this announcement, protests have continued across the country including Lagos State and, in some locations, the protests have turned violent and casualties have been reported.

It is important to note that similar orders on disbandment or reformation have been given in the past and later rescinded. In all past cases, violent crimes spiked in both volume and severity following the orders and we are not sure that this time it will be different.

Consequently, everybody required to maintain the following Security Protocol:

•             Be more security conscious while coming to the office and going back home.

•             Always have your dentification Card (ID) in your possession 

•             Don’t be confrontational with any security agent because of the new Police order or pronouncement

•             Ensure you maintain steady contact with your family to know what is happening back home while you in the office 

•             You are expected to obey all instructions and where your rights are violated, seek redress later through the proper channels.
