SCAM ALERT !!!
~3.4 mins read
Last month, Federal Government instructed all Nigerians who are using SIM cards to link all their SIM cards to National Identity Number (NIN). When the announcement was made, the Federal Government also gave Nigerians 2 weeks to make sure that their SIM cards are linked to the NIN.
But due to the reactions of Nigerians who said that the time which the Federal Government gave them is too small to do the registration, the Federal Government added more days to the registration deadline, and made it known that anybody that failed to make the registration, he/she SIM cards will be blocked by National Identity Management Commission, (NIMC).
But about some days ago, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), made announcement that it has created a new application for the NIN registration. The reason why the application was created is to reduce the stress that people in the country are passing through before they can register their SIM cards at NIMC office.
But now, some fraudsters in the country are now using the opportunity of the new application to dupe people online, by creating their own application that look like the NIN registration application that was created NIMC. This made National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), to take to its page on a micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to alert and warn Nigerians against the new application from the fraudsters.
If you check the photo below, you will see the the real NIN application and the fake one that was created by some fraudsters in the country.
Please let's be careful so as not to fall victim.

NINCM Update
~5.1 mins read

The Federal Government has given an update on suspension of NIN registration in Nigeria.

THECONSCIENCE reports that the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari may suspend the ongoing National Identification Number enrolment process over COVID-19 health risks.

The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, made this disclosure over a suspension of NIN registration for now.
Mamora urged the National Identity Management Commission to go back to the drawing board and re-order the enrolment process to avoid large crowds at its centres nationwide.

Mamora, who is a member of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, said the government has a duty to ensure Nigerians are protected at all times, hence a possible suspension of NIN registration.
The Minister of State for Health said this on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily Programme as a guest.
His words: “I don’t feel good looking at the picture where people are gathered in multitude; it’s like a superspreader event which we don’t like.
But I’m also aware that the relevant ministry which is the communications and digital economy is looking at this.
“My understanding is that the whole process may be suspended so as to reorder the whole process in terms of management of the crowd because it was never intended that it would become a rowdy process like that.”
The Minister added, “We have a duty as government to ensure that people are protected.
we also have a duty to ensure people comply within the limit of what is good for the society at large.”
