Bye Election results for all 11 states from polling units, wards and LGAs have emerged.
The Editor reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire, commenced the bye elections across the affected 11 states in Nigeria. at exactly 8:00 am amidst tight security.
The 11 affected states were the bye elections took place are Bayelsa, Borno, Cross River, Enugu, Imo, Kogi, Katsina, Lagos, Nasarawa, Plateau and Zamfara.
This online news platform understands that a total of 4,215,523 registered voters were eligible to participate in the bye elections in 36 local government areas, 413 registration areas, 7,702 polling units and 69,921 voting points.
The details of the document obtained from the electoral umpire shows that Bayelsa Central Senatorial District had 4,662 staff; Bayelsa West, 2,281; Imo North, 3,874; Plateau South, 6,347; and Cross River North, 4,042; Lagos East Senatorial District, 9,284; and Ngazai State Constituency, 362.
Others are Bayo State Constituency (456), Bakori State Constituency (1,113), Bakura State Constituency (553), Isu Uzo State Constituency (562), Ibaji State Constituency (667), Kosofe 2 State Constituency (1,610), Obudu State Constituency (12) and Dass State Constituency (398).
The bye elections taking place today (Saturday, December 5) are Bayelsa Central Senatorial District; Bayelsa West Senatorial District; Nganzai and Bayo constituencies in Borno State; Cross River North Senatorial District; and Obudu Constituency in Cross River.
Others are Lagos East Senatorial District; Kosofe Constituency II in Lagos State; Imo North Senatorial District; Plateau South Senatorial District; Bakura Constituency in Zamfara; and Ibaji Constituency in Kogi, north central Nigeria.

INEC declares APC’s Abiru winner of Lagos East senatorial bye-election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Tokunbo Abiru, has emerged victorious in the Lagos East senatorial bye-election conducted in the state on Saturday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission announced that Abiru obtained a total of 89,204 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Gbadamosi secured a total of 11,257 votes to emerge second.
Abiru won in all the five local government areas in the senatorial district.
Candidates from 12 political parties are contesting in the Lagos East Senatorial bye-elections while eight candidates are contesting the Kosofe Constituency II, Lagos State House of Assembly by-elections.
The contestants for the senatorial election are Muyiwa Adebanjo, Action Alliance; Ms Mercy Adeoye, African Action Congress, and John Kome, African Democratic Congress.
Others are Adebowale Ogunlaru, Action Democratic Party; Adetokunbo Abiru, All Progressives Congress; Olusola Babatope, Allied Peoples Movement; Mrs Florence Trautman, Labour Party; and Ms Adijat Lawal, New Nigeria Peoples Party.
They also include Babatunde Gbadamosi, Peoples Democratic Party; Akin Olukunle, National Rescue Movement; Saheed Aluko, Social Democratic Party and Taiwo Temitope, Young Progressive Party.
The eight contestants for the Kosofe Constituency II bye-election are John Akerele, AA; Sadiq Olawale, AAC; Wasiu Saheed, APC; Adekunle Oladapo, LP; Muyideen Agoro, NNPP; Ademorin Adelaja, NRM; Sikiru Alebiosu, PDP and Mrs Mary Abojeh, ADC.
The two bye-elections became necessary following the demise of the former occupants who were members of APC.
