Let's face food prepared in large quantities often loses it's taste . That's precisely why we occasionally need appetiser for our meals . some people prefer odi, peanut butter mixed with roasted and ground simsim others place ghee, chilli or ketchup in their food to improve it's taste.most people however prefer cooking oil.

  • 1 cup of clean silver fish /omena 
  • 1 litre of oil
  • 3 large sized onions
  • 3 royco packs
  • One large bell green pepper.
  • preparation
  • dice onions and green peppers in small sizes
  • Place cooking oil in large saucepan .
  • Fish out onions and place in separate container.
  • Drop in green pepper pieces and after fish them out too.Don't leave any piece in the oil or it will go bad.
  • Re-heat oil
  • Remove heads of silver fish,sinc s they usually have little stones.
  • Drop silver fish in oil and fry till crispy and golden brown.
  • Serve and use your tasty appetiser .
  • If you can't stand the silver fish , interchange with garlic or just green pepper.
    It's mostly recommended for school going kids especially those in boarding schools.This is because frying onions till they are golden brown and mixing in royco is old fashion.check out it.i hope you enjoy.

    Ingredients
  • 2 cups of all purpose white flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 a cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 table spoons of margari e melted in a bowel
  • 1 table spoon of of fresh lemon juice if you want to help keep them longer
  • Spices of taste and aroma eg cinnamon,ginger, vanilla,powder, and Coco nut powder.
          Directions
  • Mix the milk with sugar and stir and put mixture aside.
  • Shift the floor in a bowel.Add the spices and baking powder and mix well.
  • Add the margarine and and rub it in the floor.
  • Form a well in the mixture above and add the whipped egg and mix well rubbing in for a uniform mixture.
  • Add the milk sugar mixture and mix to make dough until it is soft but not sticky .if dough is so sticky,you can add some flour and if it's soft,you can add some more milk or even water.
  • With daddies you have roll out on a slightly floured wooden board until the dough is thin ,the thinner the dough, the crunchier they will be,cut the dough into strips and then the strips into tiny squares and deep fry as seen below.
  • To store daddies for long keep them out of air in a tightly sealed dish
