 Have you ever wondered why a letter or more in some words are omitted during pronunciation? That' s because they are silent letters!

 Silent letters are letters that you can' t hear when you say the words but that are there when you write them. At least over 60% of words in English have silent letters.

Sometimes these letters are silent in some words: b, c, d, e, gh, h, l, n, p, ph, s, t, u and w.

The letter' b  ' is usually silent when it comes after the letter ' m' and before the letter 't' . Here are some examples:
