How To Activate Your ATM Card
~1.4 mins read
An account holder can activate his / her ATM card by the following ways –

Go to an ATM: The account holder can activate the ATM card by visiting the ATM of the bank he holds an account with. He/she will be required to insert the ATM card & provide the PIN or temporary PIN details and proceed as per the instructions. Some of the banks automatically activate the card as soon as the account holder enters the PIN.

Call Bank’s Customer Care: The account holder can call on the toll-free number of the bank to activate the ATM Card. The toll-free number is given on the ATM card as well on the official website of the bank. An account holder can also get the toll free customer care number on the letter provided with the ATM Card. He/she will be required to provide with all the requested information such as account number, address, registered mobile number and ID proof details as well in order to get the card activated.

Through net banking: Account holder can also log in to activate the ATM Card. All he/she is required to do is just select the ‘activate ATM card’ option after logging in to the net banking portal and enter the security code given on the backside of the card. Most of the banks also allow activation of ATM card via mobile apps as well.

Make a purchase: A few of the banks also allow a customer to use the card at the desired stores, enter the PIN to make a purchase, and activate the ATM Card automatically.

Change ATM Card PIN: In case of temporary ATM card PIN, the customer will be required to visit bank’s ATM and change ATM PIN.
