Commencement Of The Third Phase Of Easing Of Lockdown
~2.4 mins read
The national coordinator of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu, has explained how the third phase of the gradual easing of lockdown will be implemented.

Mr Aliyu, while speaking at the bi-weekly briefing of the task force, on Thursday, said the new guidelines will be effective from Friday, September 4.

Nigeria imposed its first round of lockdown in March. Mr Buhari on April 27 announced the gradual easing of the five-week lockdown in FCT, Lagos and Ogun State.

The lockdown was eased to a nationwide night curfew (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.) from May 4 to May 17.

The curfew was later amended by many state governments to commence from 10:00 p.m.

The first phase of the relaxed lockdown was extended by two weeks and elapsed midnight June 1. The second phase which commenced on June 2 and elapsed on June 29 was extended by four weeks.

The additional four weeks elapsed midnight July 29 but was extended by one week due to the Sallah celebrations and elapsed midnight, August 6. It was further extended by four weeks and elapses midnight today, September 3.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, had announced that the third phase of the gradual easing of the lockdown in the country will commence on September 4.

Mr Mustapha, who is also the chairman of the task force, said this phase will last for four weeks as approved by President Buhari.

Nationwide curfew

Mr Aliyu said the existing nationwide curfew of 10 p.m to 4 a.m imposed by President Buhari to further limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus has been reviewed.

He said the curfew would henceforth be from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. daily.

”We are modifying the curfew to commence from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. nationwide, effective from 12:00 tonight.

“This does not apply to people on essential services and international travellers that might be returning from abroad,” he said.

Mr Aliyu earlier said the purpose of the curfew is to limit social interactions and, therefore, reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.

Schools, restaurants, hotels

He said hotels will continue to remain open while observing necessary preventive measures.

“Amusement parks, gyms and cinemas can open but at half capacity. Event centres that provide outdoor service spaces can open but not indoors event centres.

“Eateries and restaurants can only open for outdoor services and we will make sure this is complied with.

“Bars and night clubs will remain closed till further notice,” he said.

International flights

He said the Nigerian international travel portal will be activated today, September 3.

“It is mandatory for persons coming into the country to have valid negative COVID PCR test results before boarding and this needs to be valid within 96 hours from accredited laboratories, preferably 72 hours before boarding,” he said.

NYSC

He said the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is to consolidate on safety measures currently being put in place and start preparing for reopening of orientation camps when educational institutions reopen.

“We are in the process of developing a strict guideline to ensure that there is no outbreak of COVID-19 when orientation camps reopen,” he said

What Really Happened To The Nigerian Prophet That Said God Sent Him To The Lion's Den
~3.1 mins read
Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, is the largest city in Nigeria, West Africa and the third in Africa at large after Egypt’s Cairo and South Africa’s Johannesburg. The city which lies in the south-western part of Nigeria is known for its rich and fascinating cultures, lifestyle, history and spellbinding tourist destinations.

One of the most visited tourist destinations in Ibadan is the University of Ibadan zoological garden which proudly houses different animals ranging from wild lions to timid rabbits. This is a story of a Nigerian prophet who claimed to have got a calling from God to visit the Lion’s cage of the UI zoo. recall we briefly hinted about this story last week when compiling a list of dumb people who have scaled the fence of a zoo into the cages of these animals. You can catch up below if you missed it:

It is quite a thing in the neighboring towns, states and of course families living in Ibadan to visit the zoo during festive periods to hang out and have fun as well. So, on this eventful (later bloody) day during th Easter celebrations of the year 1991, visitors stormed the U.I zoo in their usual fashion to enjoy the serene environment of the enclosure and have fun seeing different animals they have only seen on TVs. Of all the animals in the zoo, the lions attract the highest number of visitors and you sure know why that is a thing. It can even be concluded that a visit to U.I zoo without seeing the lions is not complete.

As stated earlier, on that day, everybody was at the zoo to have a nice time seeing the animals and taking pictures, except a man, a bold and daring prophet who went by the name Daniel Abodurin. This spirited man of God wanted to show people the ‘work of God of Daniel‘ by walking into the lions’ cage to touch them as Daniel did in the bible without getting mauled. Prophet Abodurin’s intention was to recreate the biblical story of a young man named Daniel who out of envy or some would say in a bid for Nebuchadnezzar to dare his god,  was thrown to some lions that turned out to have been mysteriously tamed. The biblical story has it that God sent down some angels to shut the mouths of the lions while Daniel was in the Den.

According to different quarters, the prophet pleaded with the zookeeper to let him into the Lions’ cage but he was denied after several attempts. The denial did not stop Daniel’s plans as he maintained that God sent him and he must fulfil the glorious call.

Sneaking or no sneaking, he eventually found his way into the cage. Many people present at the scene could not believe what their eyes were seeing, and realizing it was not a dream, they prepared their mind for the worst result. Prophet Daniel Abodurin was clothed in a red robe and under his armpit was a big bible. As he entered the cage, he began reciting Bible verses and speaking in tongues and calling unto the ‘God of Daniel’ to perform wonders.

the shocked lions retreated to a corner of their cage. Unknown to the to-be African version of Daniel, retreating is the first thing lions do when they see something unusual in their territory -More like who dares encroach our private spaces? Long story short, prophet Abodurin thought his faith was really working. He moved nearer to the lions and kept chanting bible verses, then in a flash, the lions pounced on the bemused, confused and horrified prophet.

This horrid scene sent jitters down the spines of the terrified onlookers. Prophet Daniel Abodurin battled for his dear life but his strength was no match for that of the hefty lions, and in a moment, he was torn into pieces and devoured. His bloody red robe laid in shreds and his bible which he had flung away at the beginning of the attack was covered in dust. Stampede ensued in the zoo as people took to their heels after seeing such a horrible sight they will never forget in their lives. The prophet’s remains were collected and later buried.

That was how Prophet Daniel Abodurin met his bitter and horrible end. Many people condemned the prophet for such a bizarre act while others believed the lions were possessed by demons stronger than the prophet and demanded that they should be killed.

700 Nigerians Deported From Ghana SeeWhy
~1.9 mins read
The Ghanaian Minister of Information, Kojo Nkrumah, on Sunday, defended the $1m trade levy and other regulations imposed on Nigerian traders in Ghana, noting that Nigeria had equally issued executive orders preventing foreigners from getting jobs which Nigerians can do.
The minister said it was astonishing that Ghanaian laws could be described as outrageous, noting that it was on record that Nigeria had taken a number of steps in pursuit of its national interests.

He cited the closure of the Seme-Krake borders since August 2019 as part of steps taken by the Federal Government, which he said had affected the neighbouring countries.

Nkrumah accused Nigerian traders in Ghana of gross violations of retail trade laws, including tax evasion, immigration offences, and selling substandard products.

Nkrumah stated this in reaction to a statement by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, that the Federal Government would no longer condone the reported harassment of Nigerians in the former Gold Coast.

Mohammed had in his statement on Friday listed various acts of aggression against Nigeria and its citizens by the Ghanaian authorities, including the takeover of some Nigerian diplomatic properties, discriminatory deportation of 825 Nigerians within one year and harsh jail sentences on Nigerians.

But Nkrumah said contrary to Mohammed’s claims that 825 Nigerians were deported between January 2018 and February 2019, only 700 Nigerians involved in fraud, prostitution, and armed robbery were deported from Ghana.

Nkrumah stated, “The Federal Republic (Nigeria), on the other hand, is on record to have taken a number of steps in recent months, in pursuit of her national interests, which have gravely affected other countries in the region.

“These include the closure of Nigeria’s Seme-Krake border from August 2019 to date and the issuance of executive orders by Nigeria’s Presidency preventing foreigners from getting jobs which Nigerians can do, to mention a few.”

The minister assured that the Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo, would engage with Nigeria’s President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and develop a framework for validating the claims of ill-treatment of citizens of either country and ensure they enjoy the full exercise of their rights while respecting the sovereignty and laws of both countries.

Nkrumah said his counterpart’s assertion on the alleged seizure of Nigerian Mission property located at No. 10, Barnes Road, Accra, was incorrect, noting that the land was acquired by Nigeria from a private citizen, Thomas Hardy, on October 23, 1959.

The minister explained that the commercial lease on the land expired 46 years ago without any evidence of renewal by the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana.

On the high residency permit levies, including the $120 for COVID-19 test imposed by the authorities, Nkrumah stated that this applied to all foreigners and not just Nigerians.

They think that Marriage is all about Roses, but they never knew that the journey of Marriage is never easy. If you don’t have what it takes to stay in a relationship, you won’t have what it takes to keep a home and Marriage.

Marriage is the only institute that as a couple, you are issued your certificate before ever you enter. What this means is that ones you are issued your certificate, you’re no longer going to Graduate ever. It is then for better for Worst . Yes, you will weather the storm and face the challenges that will come at the long run of the Marriage.

Any woman who has failed to keep a family, has failed to keep a home and she has totally failed as a woman. As a woman, marriage is not all about a tall handsome man that will marry you and be your husband. Getting married to a tall handsome rich man is good, but are you aware that it doesn’t end there. What if the man you called your husband didn’t love you so dearly, what will you do then?

Now here is my sad Story that I would love our young girls to learn from. Please stay tuned as I narrate my sad Story to you my readers.

My name is Isabella and I am a married woman who is age 21. I live here in Accra Ghana with my Husband. Although we have not had kids of our own and we are not in a hurry to do so, but we are hoping and trusting GOD to bless us with our own children.

Before I got married to my husband, it was never my Intention to do so. Irrespective of the fact that he is wealthy and handsome, I never wanted to get married to him because he is too old for me. My husband is 45 years and only 21 years old. You can imagine the wide gap between our age difference. And I virtually obey him and do all he wish because he is my senior.

I never wished to marry him at my age, but my parents forced me to marry him. My father threatened not to train me in University Education is I don’t marry him. He said that he will continue from where he stopped. My father made it clear to me that it will be very difficult for me to find another suitor that will be rich like him. My mother in the other hand persuaded me to marry him and be rest assured that I will have luxury and live a comfortable life.

After we got married, my husband started displaying some attitudes that he never showed to me. He started staying out at night and each time he comes back home, he will stay for hours in the Bathroom. I tried to caution him over this, but he will always tell me that it is all about business. That his staying out late is based on Business.

I made out time to narrate this whole problem to my friend Isabella, my childhood friend, in how my husband always comes back late and how he will take long in the bathroom, she advised on something. She told me that I should barge in on him while he will be inside the bathroom and find out what he is always doing there. I first declined because he might get made at me, but on a second thought I agreed to do that.

At home around 11 pm, my husband came back late as usual and after having his dinner, he set out to the bathroom as usual. He stayed there close to 45 minutes. Then I summoned courage to do as my friend told me to, as this could be the only avenue for me to find out what keeps him that far. I tiptoed and forcefully pushed the of the bathroom, and on seeing me, my husband tried to shutdown his laptop, then I was fast enough to collect the laptop from him. Then I saw the Chats he was having with some people on his Laptop.

I asked him what he is doing with such chats as I saw where he was demanding, he was giving suspicious answers. Then I discovered that my husband is into internet FRAUD called Yahoo Boys. He begged me severally not to tell anyone. As this will ruin his image and personality.

I have been battling within my spirit not to tell anyone. I don’t know if I should tell my parents about this, or his own parents, my pastor or should I report him to the Police. Please what should I do in this situation, Because even Christianity and Islam as a Religion, preaches against any form of FRAUD?
