REGIMENT (Day 1)
~1.0 mins read
REGIMENT
Everything about a military life is stressful but a story to recount with joy. I remember my first day at camp. Stepping into the tensed environment with camouflage everywhere; even on buildings and walls. At every slight turn there are inscriptions of orders you must follow. Where there are none, there is always a being there to bark the thunderous orders which are accompanied with sanction.
I am a person who didn't like reading inscriptions on the wall because I felt they mattered less to me. My first few hours at the camp. The walk from the gate to my room which is about 200metres, I spent hours because of my failure to read a simple instruction "always jog while passing here". I faced sanction I feel till date is non proportional to my offense but I learnt the hard way. "Oh my laps ache"
The short walk from the gate lasted long like the biblical walk of the children of Israel, the only difference is I had no manner on my way, my white soak in the red sand road. Sometime I feel the roads were made purposes like this.
Sitting quietly in my resting place i drew up a calendar in tears recounting how the first few hours have been and wondering how I'll survive the next 6 months. I have taken out this time to set aside this diary as I recount my daily struggles in this REGIMENT
