West Brom Boss Slaven Bilic Sent Off After Furious On-pitch Argument With Mike Dean
~1.3 mins read
West Brom manager Slaven Bilic was sent off on the stroke of half-time by Mike Dean after a furious argument with the match referee.
After a decent first half from West Brom, things turned sour for the Baggies as the clock ticked down towards half time.
James Rodriguez put Everton ahead in injury time with the two teams drawing 1-1, before Kieran Gibbs was sent off just two minutes later for violent conduct on Rodriguez.
Bilic clearly felt the red card was very harsh on Gibbs, and protested to Dean as the players walked down the tunnel.
“Check the foul. Check the foul,” Bilic demanded. “And the red card. Next time kill us.
Go away, go away,” Dean told Bilic.
“Now it’s done, you could also kill us,” continued Bilic.
At this point, Dean pulled out the red card and showed it to Bilic, though the Croatian continued to protest.
“Go away, you go away,” continued Dean, pointing at another member of Bilic’s backroom staff.
“So I can’t talk to you? I can’t talk to you?” asked Bilic, as Dean heads back towards the tunnel.
Bilic was forced to watch the second half from the press box with a mask on, and may face a ban from the touchline.
Former referee and BT Sport pundit Peter Walton revealed on air that Bilic is not allowed to enter the field of play under current restrictions.
“Protocol is that a manager can’t approach a referee on the field of play,” said Walton.
“He’s not allowed to go on the field of play. He should wait for a word in the dressing room. He can’t go on the field of play and talk to him.”

Lyon Confirm Arsenal Have Made Houssem Aouar Transfer Bid And Respond To "agreement" Claim
~1.0 mins read
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed Arsenal have made an offer for Houssem Aouar - but says the Gunners' bid is nowhere near close enough to his valuation.
The OL chief also played down reports the French 22-year-old has agreed terms with the north London club in a deal worth £32million.
Aulas added that he expects Aouar to remain a Lyon player for the foreseeable future, feature against Lorient on Sunday, and be a part of the squad all season.
Aulas took to Twitter on Saturday morning to set the story straight: "At Lyon there will be very few departures: for Houssem, Arsenal is much too far from his value: we count on him to make a big game in Lorient and lead OL in Champions League next year
This isn't the first time Aulas has spoken out about Arsenal's interest in Aouar this month.
Just last week the Lyon chief suggested the Gunners do not have the financial muscle to get the transfer over the line.
He said: "Financially, Arsenal are like everyone else [in a tricky spot]. And Houssem could say to himself that the best thing would be to stay with us."
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to sign an attacking midfield player and Aouar is the first name on his transfer wishlist.
Other players the Gunners have been linked with this summer include Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey and Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho.
