The events that characterized the lekki massacre are still shrouded in deep mystery. This is due to the fact that no one claimed responsibility for the incident and the CCTV camera that would have revealed some details about the event was allegedly removed. The governor of Lagos State Sanwolu and his Godfather Tinubu have also been indicted in the incident but both of them denied the allegations outrightly.

Following the sad occurrence, an independent judicial panel was established to investigate the cause of the lekki massacre. Just today, the president Mohammadu Buhari also announced his full support to the independent judicial panel set up with a promise to see to it that peaceful protesters and military officers who lost their lives in the fracas get justice.

Falz a musician earned the admiration of many of the youths after his active participation in the endSARS protest prior to the lekki massacre. He was one of the celebrity influencer that gave impetus and momentum to what many considered as a remarkable protest. Via his verified Twitter page today, he shared his view on a news making rounds that that a one time governor of Lagos State discovered a secret camera in a location close to the site where the lekki shootings took place.
His tweet suggested that he did not buy the story of Fashola discovering a camera. Going by the reactions of people, it was clear why he made the statement. The place where the ex-governor claimed to have seen a camera was burnt by the police. Also, LASTMA officers were reported to have done a thorough clean up of the place after the incident. It keeps one wondering whether Fashola was some sort of super detective with microscopic eyes. Check out some reactions below.

About 37 former members of the disbanded Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS have been pencilled down for dismissal from service.

The Police Service Commission, PSC is also expected to order the prosecution of 24 other ex-SARS operatives for various acts of professional misconduct.

In a media statement signed by the Commission’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, the decisions are some of the highlights of the Report of the Presidential Panel on Reform of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad set up by the Federal Government in 2018 to reform the dreaded unit.

The Presidential Panel had, among other things, investigated allegations of human rights violations and abuse of office against SARS and recommended reform or restructuring of the outfit.

Presenting the report to the PSC Chairman, Musiliu Smith, in Abuja on Friday, the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, Tony Ojukwu, called for a speedy implementation of the panel recommendations.

The statement observed that the PSC Chairman has all it takes to deal appropriately with the report of the panel.
