Manchester United Join Race For 22 Year Old Premier League Midfielder

Man United are set to rival Chelsea with the signing of Frank Lampard’s No.1 target Declan Rice. The English coach oversaw a near-unprecedented summer of spending at London club which saw Roman Abramovich sanction a spree in excess of £200m.
Despite that investment, Frank Lampard was frustrated to have missed out on the signing of Declan who was valued at nearly £80m by West Ham United. Frank is said to have seen Rice as the heir apparent to N’Golo Kante who has struggled to maintain his fitness over the course of the former club captain’s managerial reign so far.
Frank Lampard’s position at the helm is less than secure, however, following an indifferent run of form which has exposed the Blues title credentials and should the English manager depart, Red Devils, who also have a long-standing interest in the 22-year-old midfielder, are set to pounce in the summer.
The Norwegian coach has been armed with a meager £20m budget this month and is unlikely to invest in his squad, preferring to keep his powder until the close campaign. Ole, who has led Red Devils to the PL summit, stays keen to sign a new left-sided centre-back having missed out on the likes of Nathan Ake to Man City.
The Norwegian manager’s need for midfield reinforcements could well depend on the future of Paul Pogba, but Red Devils are resigned to selling the France international in the summer, despite his recent burst of good form.
With talks over a new long-term deal having stalled, the Red Devils feel they are left with no option but to attempt to recoup a large chunk of the £89m they spent on Paul Pogba in the summer of 2016.

Mason Mount Yet Breaks Another Long Held Record

The debate has been raging on about whether Lampard will get time to turn things around after a slump in Premier League form, or if owner Roman Abramovich will wield the axe once again.
Lampard will live to see another day for now after his team overturned a stubborn, tidy, and well-organised Luton at a snowy Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea did the job, and without too many concerns, but the main feeling will be one of relief after earning a spot in the fifth round against Barnsley.
Reports have suggested there could be some dressing room unrest in West London, but this Cup display proved any discontent is certainly not coming from the young academy lads.
Lampard went with his trusted youngsters, selecting 22-year-old Mason Mount as captain for the very first time, alongside Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Andreas Christensen, and Scot Billy Gilmour.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is another young gun who came on and put his all into helping the team win the game by creating the third goal with Gilmour and Abraham.
These players are playing for Lampard right now, they are soaking up that pressure and putting 100 per cent effort into winning matches and trying to ease the pressure on their under-fire boss.
The same cannot be said about all of the other players in recent matches.
