His total assets rose by $4 billion over night to $154 billion, as per Forbes, positioning him in front of LVMH's Bernard Arnault and Amazon's Jeff Bezos while Elon Musk still maintain his first position.

The self made billionaire who is currently 60 years old, made his fortune in ports and commodities exchange and he presently manages India's second-biggest business empire with interests in coal mining, consumable oils, news media and airports. 

He was brought into the world in the city of Ahmedabad in the western territory of Gujarat to a working class family, he exited school to work in a diamond industry prior to beginning his exportation business in 1988.

In 1995, he was awarded a contract to construct and manage a commercial port at Mundra which has since developed into Indian’s biggest port.

Simultaneously, the business man ventured into coal mining and thermal power and in recent years, the business expanded into copper refining, petro chemicals, data centers cement productions, as well as laying out a sustainable peer energy business.

This year he invested in Indian news media and bid for 5G wireless transmissions.
