A former president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the person of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Wednesday, 5th may 2021 said his former boss, Late President Musa Yar’Adua, would always be remembered by every Nigerians as a peacemaker.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan stated this in a post he made on his official social media handle (Facebook) to Mark the 11th anniversary in memory of Yar'Adua, who died in 2010 as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Recall that Late Yar'Adua died on the 5th of May in the year 2010 and his burial took place on the 6th of May 2010 in the Danmarna area of Katsina State.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who the then Nigerian vice president until the death of the president was duly sworn in as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 6th of May 2010.
His swearing-in as the President was in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following the death of his predecessor.
In a statement of remembrance, GEJ described his former boss as "a peacemaker, a nation-builder and a democracy whose timeline was defined by good deeds, peace, truth, and love".
The statement read: “Today, I celebrate my boss, friend, colleague, and brother, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who left the country 11 years ago.
“As a politician, we had the same vision of a peaceful, united, and just nation. President Yar'Adua has maintained his faith in this vision, using his energy and time in pursuit of a more just society, to the point of exhaustion.
“Even though we are invisible, his values ​​remain with us and we will continue to cherish his memory.
"We will always remember him as a peacemaker, a nation-builder, and a democracy whose timeline was defined by the beauty of service, peace, truth, and love."

As preparation for the forthcoming general election in Nigeria continues, so many people have already started indicating interest in one political office or the other starting from the presidency to the grassroots politics.
Recently, poster and flyers of some people were seen on some major road in Lagos and before now, some people's flyers has been trending on social media when the independent National Electoral Commission has not yet declared campaign open.
The surprising thing is that some of the people whose flyers are been passed on the road and also on social media know the implications of doing so when the campaign is not officially declared open.
In that case, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Thursday 6th May 2021 issued a stern warned to all political parties to refrain from participating in unapproved campaigns, ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election or face disqualification.
As regards the Ekiti State election that is coming up in 2022, the state resident electoral commissioner in the person of Dr. Adeniran Tella warns the people of Ekiti state against any form of premature campaigns.
He made this statement in Ado-Ekiti at a gathering of stakeholders including political leaders, youth, women, and religious groups.
The meeting was scheduled to address some challenges bordering the state such as expanding polling units to meet the people in the rural villages and other places to ease the election process.
The statement issued by the resident electoral commissioner read; “The commission is challenging you to play this game by the rules.
“Election Law, 2010, Section 9991, as amended, addresses the organization of election campaigns before the scheduled time.
“To avoid doubt, part of the law states that the period of public campaigns by any political party will begin 90 days before election day and end 24 hours before the election commences".
