I WONT LOOSE HOPE
~1.2 mins read
"Since we began our Ramadan fast, I have constantly prayed to God everyday to change the situation of our country. Each day that passes by, you will definitely hear of a sad incident that occurred somewhere in our country. Honestly I’m tired of the daily bloodshed going on in our country without any remedy from those in charge of the nation's affairs.

If you approached people daily to know their take on Nigeria, you'd find out that the first hundred people you meet have completely lost hope in the country. That is why you see people leaving the country daily. Some take risks to make sure that they are not caught up with the sad happenings in this nation

It's high time the masses came together as one,put aside our religious and tribal differences, and work together to put an end to the reign of all these old politicians who continually rotate power among themselves.

Just yesterday, I bought three oranges for 200 naira and when I asked the man why, he asked if I was expecting him to sell lesser than what he bought. I could still remember when this present government was about coming to power, agriculture was their key agenda, but it’s funny and disheartening at the same time to see that they have invested billions in agriculture and yet foodstuff is the most expensive commodity today in Nigeria.

I just wish my fellow northerners would realize the ruins we are in quickly and act accordingly in the forthcoming elections. I’m tired of the situation in Nigeria, but I won’t lose hope because I believe that God is just teaching us some lessons so that we would learn from our mistakes."-

I HAVE TO HELP MYSELF
~0.9 mins read
The major challenge I have on this job is people thinking I cannot give them what they want. Some persons will even go as far as looking for fault where there is none just to prove that I didn't do it well and my boss would have done it better. The worst part is when a customer gets his job, sees a fault and immediately assumes I had done the job. It is not all bad though. There are some customers I have proven my skills to and they have come to trust me and even recommend me to friends.
I learnt this skill because I was bored from staying at home for a long time due to strike. I didn't even take it seriously then but when I did my first job for sale and got compliments, I started putting in more effort. I am still learning and I keep improving. It's been two years since I started and whenever I am going on break, I devote my full time to it. Like now that we are on strike and I'm back home, I come here everyday and I have been making some money. By the time school resumes, I would have saved up money to support myself in addition to what my parents would give me.
