Well I disagree.

 Like every other form of oral and literal art, construction and delivery matter a whole lot. 

In our modern society if you use pickup lines, you're a cringe guy but if you're a lady who can think up pickup lines on the spot, you're quite the cool one.

Yes, society is unfair but I'm not about to tutor you on that right now.

Lots of people make mistakes searching out for commonly used pick up lines, such as the " Your dad's a boxer" or the " An Angel falling from Heaven" lines. Not bad, but cliche. 

I would not do that. Get help from the ancient Romans and Egyptians. They were quite classical when it came to flirtatious engagements back in the day.
