This act goes on constantly and as the child grows (along with lies), they rebrand those lie and give it back to their parents, who then start punishing them for lying while they themselves call all lies from their end as "white lies". No need punishing them because you opened them to lies at such tender age, just make sure those mistakes are avoided. 

Fast-forward and getting matured, each child get to the point of choosing a suitable career, then as expected, medical, law, teaching profession and political ambition are not Left out. 

After much hard work and determination, here comes our qualified Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, e.tc and then everyone seems happy.

For someone as successful as the lecturer to make such statement, I kept on wondering what he really wanted to change from his past.

 This made me understand that life isn't about riches or been successful alone, but happiness matters. We can be successful but still be unhappy with your past, so what's d gain of not living your present well??

 Don't you think been fully happy pays?? If to you, it doesn't, then this isn't meant for you but if to you it pays, then its time to realize that the present really matter. 

Pay proper attention to your doings so in the future you can look back and say "yes, I'm thoroughly successful"
