Reasons Why You Should Stop Taking Your Phone Into The Toilet
~1.7 mins read
It is with no doubt that most of us take our phones to the toilet in order to while away time. However, experts have revealed some shocking truths about why it's best not to take it to the toilet. Below are the reasons why you should never take your phone into the toilet:
Bringing your phone to the toilet with you is capable of making you ill because harmful germs can find their way on your device, even if you wash your hands. In fact, they may not just be your germs but other people's too.
Even if you have immaculate hygiene habits, you can't always trust that others have been as considerate.
Experts warns that by taking your phone into the toilet, you risk getting it covered in germs. In the loo, there will be other people's germs on the seat, loo flush handle or button, loo roll holder and the door to the cubicle.
These germs could include anything from salmonella to norovirus, and i guess you don't want those on your phone.
It may further surprise you to know that germs go through toilet paper, so after you have finished on the loo, your hands are certainly going to be dirty, which is why you have to wash them afterwards. If your hands are dirty and you pick up your phone after using the toilet, you may end up transferring bacteria and viruses from your hands onto your phone and then back onto your hands, even if you wash them afterwards. Then the germs can go either straight into your mouth; through eating or nail biting. Unfortunately, the germs that covers the surface of your phone will most likely be transferred to others if you give the phone to someone else after using the toilet. If you're at work and you feel it's necessary to take your phone along with you into the toilet probably because you need to check some messages, the only way you can minimise the amount of germs you will pick up is that you should keep your phone in your left hand.
Ensure you don't touch anything else with your left hand, then use your right hand to wipe, flush and touch the toilet door handle. If you are left-handed, you can do it the other way round.
