3 Erroneous Beliefs Some People Have About Food Combinations!!
~1.7 mins read
We need to always acquaint ourselves with balanced diets, healthy foods, and those that are not. According to Healthline, some foods can become toxic to our bodies when not taken properly.

This is why we must be careful with our diet choices. We also need to have the right health information that will guide us. This is very important so that we can avoid having several health problems. The following are foods some people think should never combined while eating:

1. Never to combine cold water with food. They believe it can make our food gelatinous in the stomach, especially when eating fatty foods. Fat usually solidifies in cold temperatures, so they believe we should avoid taking cold water anytime we eat.

This is not true. When you drink cold water, it doesn't stay cold once it gets into your stomach because your stomach is always warm. The temperature of the cold water will change to match the temperature of your stomach.

This doesn't affect the food in your stomach. You may have to avoid drinking water while eating because it flushes down the digestive enzymes that are supposed to mix with your food for easy digestion.

2. Never to eat tomatoes with cucumbers; because they don't digest at the same time. They believe that it can cause stomach issues and vomiting. Cucumbers indeed have an enzyme that kills the vitamin C in tomatoes when you eat them together in a salad.

However, this is not something dangerous to your health if you can replace your vitamin C with other foods. If you want to combine tomatoes and cucumbers in your salad, you just need to add a little vinegar to it. This will make the vitamin C-destroying enzyme in cucumbers ineffective.

3. Some people are also of the opinion that fruits shouldn't be eaten with foods because the food will slow down their digestion and cause sugar spikes in their bodies.

This is not something to worry about because fruit also has fiber that mixes with your food. This won't cause an increase in blood sugar. It will automatically compensate for the failure of your body to digest your fruits on time and eliminate any risk of a blood sugar spike.

7 Things That Happen To Your Body When You Eat Too Much Salt.
~1.6 mins read
1. You feel puffy and bloated: Water always follows sodium, and the kidneys use this principle to help them closely regulate blood volume and fluid in the body. So, when you eat a large amount of salt (causing blood sodium levels to rise), the kidneys compensate by retaining fluid to balance and normalize levels.
The effects are usually mild and temporary, The solution? You should drink plenty of water (and avoid high-sodium foods).
2. You can't quench your thirst: Do you find yourself reaching for a water bottle a little more than normal after eating a meal out? Restaurant meals are known for being higher in sodium. Any high-salt meal can trigger an intense thirst. Sensing an increase in blood sodium, receptors in the kidneys and brain trigger the thirst sensation.
3. You get headaches: If you get occasional or regular headaches, excessive salt consumption could be the culprit. Eating salt triggers an almost immediate rise in blood pressure in some people, and headaches are a common symptom of high blood pressure. But a high-salt diet can also make people with normal blood pressure more susceptible to headaches.
4. You're more prone to eczema: Excess salt in the diet appears to trigger the immune system to release T-cells. Research suggests that this release leads to a type of hyper-inflammatory response seen with eczema, as well as other inflammatory conditions like arthritis and asthma.
5. Your risk of stomach cancer may increase: Stomach cancer is one of the six most common forms of cancer, and it's the third most deadly worldwide. Higher salt intakes are a risk factor for development of stomach cancer.
6. You may be more likely to get kidney stones: Regularly consuming excess salt can make you more susceptible to forming
kidney stones. This is because excess salt increases the amount of calcium in urine. Kidney stones form when calcium combines with oxalates or uric acid in urine and begin to form crystals. As these crystals get bigger, they become stones that can travel to the urinary tract and get stuck.
7. You may increase your risk of dementia: High levels of salt appear to increase levels of an inflammatory compound in the brain which leads to oxidative damage and begins to hinder blood flow.
