I hope you are well. Like very well? The world is not so friendly these days. Everyone is on the edge. Even a forced smile can calm nerves and at the same call for a slap, hahaha.

Away from that you all, manipulation is my problem now or better still, the art of it. You know, a lot of people have mastered this art so much that they don’t even need to get into a certain mood or plan it before they manipulate people.

How do you think some parents encourage their children into entering wrong careers, taking wrong choices, or the very common case in this part of my world, marriage?

There were two bubbling girls I knew. Both of the same mother and father. They had no striking difference in their persons except for personality, face, talents and goals.

One day, this young promising man came. He came for marriage. He wanted the eldest amongst both of them. Parents were happy for alas, a prince charming had come riding on a horse to whisk their daughter into a wonderland flowing with milk and honey. They had it sealed already in their minds, both parent for they had already handed her over.

When they finally remembered the act of asking the said girl, they called her all smiles with an underline threat hidden just beneath it. Not so far away. Our girl said no. School was the goal. After that, anything else could follow. Right there in front of prince charming, the mother had pounced on her with words. She began to remind her of the days of hunger and how now, she sleeps with a full stomach without anyone having to drag food in the house. She reminded her of the rent and how often the landlord visits was until prince charming came literally riding in and boom, issues are all solved.

She was giving a choice. Marry him or get out of the house. She chose the latter and the junior sister happily filled her shoes. Now our girl, the junior sister is a bag, a punching one and the user, our prince charming.

Manipulation isn’t always negative. A mother can cry her way into making her child become useful and at the same, useless. Choose what to use this power for.
