When She Was A Child She Thought Like A Child. Now Puberty Has Set In Her Hormones Running Up And Dow...
~1.3 mins read
When she was a child she thought like a child.
Now puberty has set in her hormones running up and down.
She doesn't understand her body anymore until she had her first bleed.
She was so scared and isolated herself scared of the stigma.
Little did she know she's becoming a woman.

After some time her curves grow,
Her beauty was one of a kind,
Marriage came Calling,
She gladly accepted, little did she know she'll become not just a wife but a mother.

After a period of some time
Morning sleep became her campanion
Neusea became often

The hospital told her congratulations but she didn't know why, she was too naive.
Her body gradually changed, due to a new member of the body.
Eating habit changed, she didn't mind as long as she was healthy.

After 9 months the cracking pain around the waist  shot,
The unexplained silent pee,

She was rushed to her hospital
Her strength was fading away
But she gave in her all
And pushed again as commanded

She called out his name

Telling him of how much she loves him and wants to meet him

She was weak
Her breath fading away
Her tears broke up

She felt his head coming out
She held him and assured he's safe
He slowly came out

And was nutured with his first food (Breast milk)

AFTER A LONG WHILE YOUR RESULTS WILL SHOW.

PLIGHT OF THE WIDOW
~1.1 mins read

With fewer women in legislative roles, the chances that the issues of widows would take frontline are fast going down the rail.  This is not unconnected with the fact that society strips widows of dignity and many United Nations initiatives do not make widows a major focus.

In Nigeria, customary laws have provisions for levirate inheritance, which is the “take over” of the widow by any of her deceased husband’s male sibling or relative. Though this is fast eroding, some cultures deprive women who decline the right of place as members of the deceased’s extended family. Some take over the children or force the widow to return the bride price. In most funeral ceremony witnessed the woman failed to come with her wedding ring. Prayers and appeal saved her from having to return to bring it from the Northern part of Nigeria where she lived with her husband before he died in a railroad accident. The custom there is to bury the widow’s wedding ring with the deceased. This custom is meant to diabolically and psychologically make women bound to their deceased husbands and so not free to remarry.

Customary laws include a provision that the family of the deceased husband takes care of his loving spouse and children (where they have any). This has become a role for sincere friends with a number taking up the education of the children but often only for a short while. Instead of providing care, comfort and compassion, some families exploit, debase and abuse widows, rob them of priced possessions and drive them to the streets.
